Fender Cusom Shop

Alright,
Im tossing around the Idea of getting a strat from the Fender custom shop, because... well, I want one. has any one here ever played one? Ive played a few that were really nice, but USA fenders (not custom) are notoriously inconstent from guitar to guitar, and im kind of worried that may be the case with the custom shop too.
so anyone have any INFORMED opinions with the Custom Shop?

any input on the new old series vs. relic? it seems like kind of cheating to get the relic, but at the some time I would piss my self the first time I scratched the new old series.

good ideas, but I already own a USA strat, a MIJ "Fender" (not squire) tele, and a MIJ squir. and thats just my fender collection. so Im not gona get any thing less then a USA.

Well if it must be an american made and you like the custom stuff, this little baby just has to be the ticket. Pricey at 3K plus but damn.....

These places are all in Toronto cause that's where I live. 12th Fret is great to deal with and the other two places are no slouches either.
