    Another computer problem thread

So I tried to slip this into another thread, but I got no responses so here we go again.

Ok I've had my laptop for a year and 3 months-ish and the past month or so the DVD-RW drive wont read disc anymore. When I put the disc in it's like it recognizes it because the little cd appears next to the mouse arrow, and it seems like it is moving or something the cd drive makes its noises...but it won't read the discs and if I go to My computer an open the drive ?folder? it is not recognizing the disc....so is my DVD drive bad or could I have just lost some software of sometype of another?

a year of use and you will definitely need to clean it no matter what it is. if you can take it apart, i would do so and spray it with the keyboard spray stuff.

What type of comp? I know HP's have this problem with certain types of disks, they just won't read them. Could try a google search on the subject.

Gateway, but a few months ago I used one of these disc (game) many times and the other probably 2 or so times...so it did read them at one point..
