Pretty much self-explainitory. Anyone here skate? Whether it be street/vert/flatland/longboard etc. etc.

I just started up again, and although I am no wheres near really good, its still fun. Im not the type of guy who goes for big stair sets and handrails...I prefer more old school moves and mini ramps (which I may be building next week )

So lets hear whats up

I used to skate street..my lack of progression and lack of decent spots around here caused me to quit,but like 2 weeks ago a I picked up longboarding. Borrowing a friends for the time being untill I quit being cheap and buy my own.

I used to skate street for awhile. Until I broke my right arm. Twice.

Still break out the ol' Element board every now and then, but it aggravates me, lol! Not nearly as good as I used to be.

I used to be pretty decent. I kinda got out of it although i still go every now and then (almost all street). I do have some friends that are pretty amazing

Never did anything too serious with skateboarding.. I liked the rollerblading a little more. Used to be able to do some jumps and stuff but got more interested in roller hockey.. the rest is history.

Anyways, I saw the funniest extreme video about a young skateboarder. I think the kid was somewhere around 12-15 years old, and he kept trying to do a move off a small set of stairs (like 4 or 5 stairs). Anyways, the first time he messed up his leg, acted tough.. had to go to the hospital & rehab & etc. Then, after that healed up, he tried again and messed up his hand. Acted tough.. thought he was cool.. went to the hospital.. cast.. etc. Gets the cast off... goes to do it again.. same group of friends (including one younger friend or brother), he tries again.. crashes bad on leg/ankle.. rolls through and his ankle is torn and the foot is pointing 90 degrees from where it should.. ripped sideways so his leg is straight but the foot is pointing to the right.. sick just to see. He's crying like a girl, and the paramedics get there and the kid has gone into shock/adrenaline rush so he's trying to act cool again saying it's part of the sport. And then all of a sudden the young kid just blurts out "that's it.. I QUIT.. you guys are IDIOTS.. I'm done" and walks away. It's the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

I've skated for about 4 years. I like it and I can't quit, no matter how mad I get for not landing a trick. I like to do just about everything except for vert because, well, we don't have anything for vert so I have to use what I got. What I really love is snowboarding, too bad we got jipped out of our snow this year

Snowboarding is where it is at...too bad I live 5 hours from snow..and Im probably going to move 6 more hours away...

i've skated on and off for about 4 years now. i only skate during summer, and usually not too often. im pretty good at flips/flip combos. also just stumbled onto a free skatepark that i plan on going to often.

I always see people with longboards at school. looks fun. but 3 years ago spring break I got on a skate board for the first time in my life and about 40 seconds later fractured some fancy sounding thing in my knee. that was awsome. took almost a year to stop hurting.
And yet I'm tempted to try again...

Such a smoooooth ride, and depending on the size of the board, you can even rip up pipes and bowls with em. Gnar to the max!
