You need water and atmosphere. I've not seen any mention of the latter and scientist classify Mars as being inhabitable, so calling this one "inhabitable" means "we need money for researching something interesting" aka "the global warming sceme"Comment

Neat tidbit, but sadly I doubt if anything beyond this announcement develops within our lifetimes.

So they've found this planet using "measurements" of its sun, but when can we see pictures??
As far as we know, it might be all rock and no water looking nothing like the Earth.War is peace
Freedom is slavery

*edit* and i wasn't calling HIM one of those people, I was just making a general comment about how that sounded like one of those people who still feel like we are the only one out there blahblahblah.
*doubleninjaedit*
they find out by analyzing the wobble the planet exerts onto the star.. as the planet rotates around the star, it pulls the star back and forth making it 'wobble'. given the type of star and the size, they can generally tell rough estimates of mass due to how much wobble.

but how can you tell the wobble from that far? is just blows my mind how they are able to do that....pretty cool stuff. hope they will get a glimpse of it now that they know to look for it.Originally posted by rkjunior303
