    Hey gun guys...

Okay I still havent got my handgun, for those of you that remember my thread from a while back.

Is it possible to use .45 ACP in a .45 Colt revolver?

    LMK.

for Blued Ruger .45 LC 5 1/2" new vaquero.
.45 Colt ammo is $$$ compared to ACP.

357 mag versions shoot 38 special...
booklet didnt say anything about 45acp so Im guessing not.

Everyone says that the new XD is better than a glock and even a few say the HK, I just doesnt suit me. Well while on the debate over caliber the guy at the place pointed to a 45lc revolver of how much stopping power a 45 has. Well I said let me see it and I fell in love with it. It just felt nice.

Besides... it will be a lot of fun to shoot.

I will get a glock 19 for concealed carry later. Im sorry the glock is just simple and clean.
but the revolver and my super mag shotty will do the job for trail rides and my new appartment! I'm Movin out!!! Beat my brother out, who is 4 years ahead of me... LOL!

It depends if you have enough room in between the cylinder and the rear of the frame/cylinder housing for the clip that would be needed to hold the .45acp rounds in place. The rounds don't have the lip around the bottom that keeps .45lc and other revolver rounds from sliding into the cylinder or barrel. They do make half moon looking clips that hold (on average) 3 rnds each, but I don't know if they would work in this firearm.

A single action revolver chambered for .45 Colt, will not chamber .45ACP.

A double action revolver chambered for .45 Colt, with properly recessed cylinder rear, can accept .45ACP head-spaced in 1/3, 1/2, or full moon clips.

No semi-auto has been made that will accept both.

.45 Colt headspaces on the rim. .45ACP headspaces on the case mouth.

It is possible to buy an extra cylinder in .45ACP for your Vaquero.

Reloading will save you money in the long run, especially with .45 Colt.

You live in a place called "Cave Creek"....and you want to carry a Glock?

Dang greenhorns...put some ivory grips on that sixgun, and live large pilgrim!

Well, OK, maybe a pair of faux ivory grips, but definitely NOT pearl. That's only for New Orleans pimps

Don't forget to only carry five. Real cowboys only carry five, with the hammer down on the empty chamber.

You can safely pack six in that Ruger...Doesn't Ruger make a "convertible" with interchangable 45 colt and 45 ACP cylinders?

The S&W 625 is a great double action six-shooter chambered in 45 ACP. Fast handlin' and fast shootin' with the moon clips...

HAHA!!! I love it ARMY. never really think of Cave Creek that way. But now that you say it... yeah I guess so.

well sorry to dissapoint... but I just got a Glock 19. Oh so sexy.
I found another shop here in town that sold the glock alot cheaper than the revolver. The place with the ruger had glocks more expensive.

                        BUT!

The ruger is next!!! So I can ride with a six on my hip!

I JUST GOT A RESEARCH JOB WITH THE D.O.D!!! I CANT FREAKIN BELIVE IT IT WAS NUTS! My instructor was so blown away with my semester project that he talked to a few people and 1 day after turning in the project I get 2 jobs. PAYS GREAT!!! AND ITS GOVERNMENT JOB! woo hoo!!! When trying to carry a better choice would be a single stack weapon like a 1911 model. I carried my xd for a while, to thick. Plus Milt Sparks makes several IWB that totally kick butt. www.miltsparks.com expensive but worth every penny. I have the Versa Max 2 and would not CC with anything else. Yes you don't have as many shots, but if you NEED 12 shots then your pretty much screwed anyway. A nice sub/micro compact 1911 .45 with 6in the stack one in barrel, locked cocked and ready to rock is all you need!!

As far as the XD deal, Ill take one over a gloc any day. Feels better in my hand, trigger and grip safety, better lookin IMHO. YOU need to decide whats best for you. My Walther P22 is prob one of the best pistols I have fun to shoot and looks hella cool.

I love the size of this gun!
It holds 15 rounds, Feels great. I love the simplicity of a glock nothing there that doesnt need to be there.

Beauty in simplicity. I really do think they are nice looking guns. the XD is to busy and has bad lines, like a ford focus.

Its a 9mm... I know, but there is just something about it I liked.

I'm happy with it. Its going to be fun and useful.

I had a great day today... well yesterday now that its 1:40am.

Although I agree with you and actually carry a very compact Kimber, because my P229 Sig was too thick, there are distinct advantages to a point and shoot weapon such as the Glock. I know the trigger on my Kimber, and I would not like to see anyone without a lot of experience with the weapon carrying it around cocked and locked.
