    Keltec P3AT .380

    Pictures later

I decided my Kimber Ultra-Carry II was inconvenient to carry during the summer so I looked around at a few different guns - the criteria being it had to be easily holsterable in my pocket.

    I tried:

A couple small .38 and .357 - there are not any that I was happy with for weight / concealment purposes. That and, having come very close to shooting myself with a revolver on accident, I am not a big fan.

NAA Guardian in 380NAA - this thing really intrigued me. Basically a suped up 380 cartridge. It was heavy, and fatter than I wanted.

Ronerberg? Or some such 9MM. Alright, a 9MM pocket pistol - ehh, I could not find anyone who owned one, understood it, and liked it.

Seecamp - I don't greatly like the design, and it was pricey

Keltec - I looked at these in .32 and .380. This gun is no beauty gun. That being said its light, small, and concealable. I checked Corbon loads and they give me enough stopping power - I like my .45 better in this regard but... it was getting to the point where when wearing shorts I was not carrying it.

I shot this at 15 yards yesterday next to a guy with a Walther PPK - and this little gun, in my hands, outperformed it. Not a better gun, but hey, all the gun in the world is no good if you cant hit your target. Oh yeh, it KICKs - severely with Corbon loads.

Whoa that's really small. I didn't expect it to be that small.

Theres a dollar for scaling, also its VERY thin - width is .77 inches.

Blarg, i fail at internets. Disregard my comment from earlier about the lack of scale.

Congratulations on the KT. I have a first generation P-32 with the belt clip that completely disappears whan I clip it to my waist band. Stopping power, a little short. However with the one round extension and one in the pipe, I have 9 rounds in a microscopic gun. The thing has shot well for me and is absolutely perfect when you can't carry something bigger. Plus, lifetime warranty, can't beat it for the price and purpose. Sorry, no pics of my guns on my work computer.

I had a P32 once upon a time - this is a second generation, and while fit and finish are not improved (they are not as bad IMO as some make it out to be) I am impressed with the functionality of it. Corbon (and other high velocity loads) in theory at least increase the frangability of the bullet and greatly increase the stopping power.

For a utility gun Kel-tec does the job. There certainly not lookers, but they get the job done fairly well.
