New Transformers Preview

Hey guys. I'm pretty sure this rolls out this weekend in front of Shrek 3. This clip is by far the most revealing in terms of how the transformations work. I'm actually fairly surprised at how much is shown; up till now, showing anything more than a quick cut was verboten.

My only complaint is the models are extremely busy, it's hard to pick out details that should be easy to see on a "character" like there flipping HEAD!

The decepticons all look like a jumbled pile of metal bits.

Also, this movie will pretty much slay every othermovie there.

Fun fact: One of my university lecturers was the guy that lead the team that designed the robot arm of the Beagle 2 lander (not a rover like one of the trailers say, it just sat there). He saw the trailer and thought it was neat.

I'm not sure they know exactly what happened to it, last I heard they found a small blob on a fairly low res black and white picture taken from orbit that looked sorta kinda maybe Beagle 2 shaped.

So I have to say, that one scene with Starscream sliding down the road looks pretty cool, but I think the part that I like the best is Prime transforming, you can hear the old 'transforming' sound that we all came to know and love from the 'toon.

so heres my theory on the story line (if anyone knows differently feel free to chime in)

Megatron came/crashed here on earth and the US is "holding" him captive. Perhaps by constant submersion in liquid nitrogen..?? Bumble Bee is stationed here to keep an eye him and allert the Autobots if the S hits the fan. So the Deceptacons come on down to free Megatron and of course the Autobots roll up to put a stop to it.

and yes most of this theory comes from watching the trailers over and over again.

Eagle, there are actually distinct sounds for Vehicle --> Robot and Robot --> Vehicle.
