So, I work at a health and fitness center as a custodian (hey, it's paying for school) working the night shift. We only work 'til 2, but usually get done with everything around 1 or 1:30, so me and some of the guys all go work out for a bit.
Now, I've been dieting for almost 2 months and have dropped 20lbs and about 4" off the waist. That makes me really happy. I've been working out seriously about the same length of time. Now, I've always been strong, but not real strong. I could do the normal 2 sets of 20 reps at a little higher than average weights.
Well, me and the guys decided to hold a little contest. The butterfly press (where you press both extended arms together) is generally our favorite machine (not really sure why, though). We decided to each try and do just one rep of the highest weight we could do.
Me and another guy tied. Now, mind you the other guy is small, but ripped. He's been working out seriously for about 2 years now.
Check this: I pulled a whopping THREE-HUNDRED AND TWENTY ALL AMERICAN POUNDS BABY! And I only weigh 195! It made me so happy. I couldn't believe it myself. That's like 5 1/2 Daves, or 1/2 of a Josh (just messin' guys!). The machine only houses 305lbs; we had to steal extra 5lbs weights from other machines. Definately made my day. I can only imagine what I'll be capable of lifting in a year from now!
