    Riviera Maya tips

Me and the Girlfriend are going to Riviera Maya in 2 weeks. We're staying in the Barcelo Maya Tropical & Colonial Beach Resort ...real close to Playa Del Carmen i think like 10 minutes.

Just looking for some suggestions on things to do and not to do. We have a few in mind, but any input would be great thanks.

I believe there is a big casino at playa del carma...when my parents where down that way I believe they said Playa del carma was the place to be.

stayed at that resort 3 years ago. Excellent choice. did not care for Playa much, interesting to see and walk around but not for me.
Check out the ruins, that was quite impressive.

yeah we might do an all day thing at x-hal or something ...it's a big park with ruins and apparently real good water / coral etc. I heard Playa was real nice for shopping and they have a street called 5th ave. where all the clubs and bars are, guess we'll have to see

x-hal is worth it defintely. They also have snorkel tours that leave right from the resort. The boat ride alone to the reef is an adventure all in itself. Like the drivers out there, there are only two speeds. All out or nothing.
You will really enjoy it there, they treat you very well and for the most part let you be in peace. No pressures at all.
Bring some good sunscreen and a 24 oz mug for your drinks.

Enjoy it... i am booking my next trip in 2 months for Feb 08 for the same place.

seriously, bring one of those 24 oz mugs for the beach. They have taps all over the place to pour your own beer. I dont recall seeing any bottles.
They also have rum / coke and tequila bars set up to make your own as well. Just grab the whole bottle of tequila and find a hut and pour em back.

I will send a PM with the link to the so called unofficial site of Barcelo. You will pretty much find any answer to any of your unanswered questions there.
