So true. It really doesn't do much more than what is already out on the market. Oh, and that "revolutionary touch-screen"? Not so "revolutionary". My 3 year old Treo 650 has a touch screen too.

iPhone, hmm... how will our teens txt with out the screen to tell them what they're sending? It looks like a retarded PSP and it's by Apple and Apple has nothing good except the iPod. plus it's over $400. iPhone = Failure.

We're not sure if the pics above are the result of an engorged, Chinese fanboy fantasy or actual product renderings of Meizu's rumored M8. We wouldn't be surprised either way what with China-based Meizu's history of uh, Apple inspired design. Posted by a senior discussion-forum jockey on the Meizu site, the M8 is now said to measure in at a scant 57x105x11.5-mm and packs both a GSM and Chinese TD-SCDMA 3G radio, a 3.3-inch 720x480 pixel display, Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel camera, and an ARM11 CPU capable of recording video at 30fps at the device's full 720 x 480 resolution. Too good to be true? Perhaps, but if not Meizu than certainly some other nimble Chinese outfit will be unveiling their iPhone clone soon enough and likely well before the iPhone hits Asia sometime in 2008. And as we've seen, even Apple's tenacious legal team can be helpless in the face of shutting down copycats on foreign turf. Picture 'round back after the break.[Via dapreview, thanks Vinn]

              woo! knockoff!

              GO CHINA FOR SCREWING APPLE!

(Meizu is a pretty good company IMO. I own their M6 miniplayer and it works like a champ, pretty good sound quality too.)

              /windows based too
//200 dollar cheaper if you can get one direct from china without any extra markup
///I think it runs on 3g network too

I have to admit the three or 4 people I know who have bought them so far love them. There isn't anything revolutionary about them like others have said, but the implementation of existing technology is great.

I'll buy one in a couple years when they are available on other networks and have built in GPS capabilities.

Yeah, the video is a joke. Maybe it would be better if he actaully had an Iphone to compare and not just a cardboard representation of one. Funny thing about most of the issues he is complaining about can be fixed with a simple upload of some software tweaks. Of course the memory card issue cant be, but I really don't need to have the complete set of encyclopedias and webster's un-abridged dictionary on my Iphone. That being said......

I love mine. I don't care what it doesn't do compared to any other "smart" phone, I like it for what it does. I have had no problems with battery life like so many others have. I was on it non stop, showing every one the phone, and after about 16 hours of pretty much non stop use, it was down to half power. People trash it because, well frankly they have nothing better to do with their time. Ive noticed a lot of the people were dogging it b4 it was even out I have never owned a blackberry or other pda phone, so don't really care if it doesn't do this or that. The thing looks great, has awesome features and I am happy with it, so really that is all that matters.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you did, and don't like it, return it, you have 14 days. If you don't have it and just like to whine about what it doesn't do, ffs get a life.

My only complaint is that the edge from ATT is kinda crap, but you can bet that will be fixed in the near future. To many people dropping $600+ for it not to be improved.

Due to the objections of a certain Canadian, this space is now for rent.

ATT has absolutely no incentive to do anything with their lousy EDGE network because:

You're locked in for two years with a phone that will not work on any other network at this point.
ATT is spending money to expand their 3G network.
ATT/Cingular/ATT has always been the last company to make any infrastructure changes.
You can be pretty sure that the iPhone2 is already in R&D, and will be 3G ready.

EDGE will never be any better than what it is right now.
