I want to go to Detroit just for the experience. Plus, they have the Red Wings.

You never want to go to Detroit.

I was in jail for a night in Monterrey and it wasnt as bad as a motel in detroit.

dtown is pretty bad, i have night classes down there. i leave school at 10:30 at night and head immediately north as fast as i can until i'm above 8 mile. the only time i felt ok walking around down there was one or two nights before the superbowl, when we had the blizzard. a friend (who was attending wayne state) and i walked from old tiger stadium to the closest casino, and then back to wayne state. for those of you who know the area, it's not the prettiest of places. we didn't see a soul due to the weather.

but detroit has nothing on my current home town of flint. flint is about 60 miles north of detroit. there are far less people in flint, but the ones you do find will prettymuch kill you on sight. if i'm not mistaken, it's third in murder right now.

did anyone happen to see that the NAACP? held a "funeral" for "the N word" in detroit yesterday morning?

what makes detroit so bad? is it gangs, drugs, or other stuff? I know in NN, VA we've got drug problems. (dont look on the news the cops dont talk much about it). esp. downtown

Yeah, same here. But you don't need to know you just have to be out late and someone will ask you "wat you buyin?" And that's even in the little crime neighborhoods.
