PICTURES WORTH A THOUSAND GRAND PRIZE WINNERS
This is minor, but someone taking pictures would be awesome. I plan on trying to convince my girlfriend to come and take pictures during playtime. Anyone who'd like to bring a camera or skip a game to snap some shots would be thanked profusely.

If I make the next one I will do as I did at the last AO Socal Camp pendleton and take pictures with my homemade paintball proof case.

So, I'd like to have the day go like this...

We meet up and shoot the breeze in the wee hours of the morning at our designated meeting spot, trying to get as much done as we can (chrono, equipment, etc.). We go to morning rules, then as soon as that's done, we move to our spot and wait for mog, cash waiting eagerly to jump out of our hands and into his. Paint is passed around, we gear up, and we go play.

Mog leaves at lunch, and half an hour later appears with pizza, losing no money he was already planning on spending.

I see no reason for anybody to leave. It worked out pretty well at camp pendleton ordering from a company that delivers. Domino's is close by and will deliver. If I am at the next one I will head up the pizza ordering. It is impossible to beat the $5 for a medium pizza deal. And this way nobody misses out on any play time.

Eat, chat, and do the raffle. Festivities end, game on. Get everyone exhausted by closing time and have them rush back onto AO to check out all the awesome pics and memories.

    Sound good?

and Sk8termog did way more work then he ever should have done. It was sad, rediculous, and frustrating to see everything put on his shoulders.

Whee - I plan on bringing an EZ Up on the 9th. I'll set it up where ever my car is. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy some shade. Hopefully this will help.

Also, I'll probably take some pics during a few games. My foot isn't back to 100% like I thought it would be and I doubt that I'll be able to play a full day. So I'll hang out and take some pics when it starts bothering me. I was planning on this happening.

As far as the food goes, I usually bring my own.

Looking forward to the 9th. Hopefully we can get a private group if it makes for a better day.

very true. It would help a lot to have ALL ASPECTS of the day laid out here online (like we've already started) WELL BEFORE the 9th.

I think the only thing he should worry about is dealing with SC Village directly.

Domino's is a good idea. $5 a pop add $1 or 2 for delivery charge and tip for the driver who will probably have 10+ pizzas to bring. Get a pizza count going before hand and phone it in ahead of time to give them time to make all those pizzas. I personally bring my own food but this will work for me!

This was a good learning experience to prepare for the next one. I think it'll go a lot smoother because we are supposed to have our own ref. This cuts down in chrono time and trying to round up everyone together. and we know what we need to do to keep organized for the next.

And don't forget a tip for the ref as well. I think a $1 or 2 per person will be good. As long as he does his job .

As far as parking goes, it seemed like the refs over there didn't like the idea of saving spots. I don't know how strictly they enforce it but i did see one telling people to move their stuff and they couldn't save spots. This was when the parking lot was nearly full.

Hey thanks for the compliment. I had fun regardless of how stressful it was. I enjoy setting things like this up because I've been doing it for so long. I normally only run groups when I'm working at HSP or Giant. I have only worked at SC a few times so not everyone knows me over there yet. I'm in with the managers and owners, but the refs and some of the red shirt guys don't know me to it takes awhile to get stuff done.

Here are a few things that are going to change.

          1. We will be registered as a a private group with the offices of SC. This means we will have a ref. that can get us onto the larger fields. Depending on how many groups are registered that day we might only get a few games in on the more popular fields, but that doesn't mean we can't spend a good amount of time on the speedball fields. Also as a group we get access to the speedball field and can kick walk on players off it and have it partly to ourselves. Also we can do more 15 on 15 games which happend to be my favorite game of the day.

          2. The head manager I had the deal with for the discount wasn't there this last time because it was his birthday. He will be there next time which means registration and getting air tags will be a lot faster and smoother. I got stuck in line in the office because the registration girls didn't know who I was and had to call in another manager. Next time I'll just call my friend manager and have him meet me in the office and we'll make things happen a lot faster. One thing that will majorly help is to know if anyone is going to be late. If they are going to be late then it would be nice to have the waiver filled out and sent to me so I can at least get a wrist band for that person. Air should be pretty easy to get and if you need more then one tag then let me know and we'll work it out.

          3. Parking should be closer together and in desinated spots. I don't see there being a problem with holding spots because we will be a private group. I believe the spot we had was good, but maybe over by the speedball area would be better. The only problem will be getting registration taken care of because we'll be so far away. For me I feel it would be the easiest to simply get the spots we had this last time, but closer to the picnic tables and actually take over a few of them so we are more as a group instead of trucks spread out and a few people over at the tables.

          4. Buying a set number of paintball cases from CC Paintball would really help me out. I was going to grab 15, but knocked it back to 10 which turned out to be a wise choice. I sold all but 4 of them, but was able to return just 2 so I still have a case I'll sell at the Feb. 9th game. It's no big deal, but for the Feb. one I'll get a count of how many want paint and are commited to buying it from me. I am totally fine with getting to CC Paintball when they open and picking up the paint so everyone else can focus on parking when the gates open at SC. If someone can just save me a spot that would be great. Also I'll clean out my car before I come so I actually have room for all the paint.

          5. As for the food, the place I got the pizzas from was willing to deliver for an extra cost. The pizza was pretty cheap and pretty good. I'm still finnishing off about 2 full pizzas with my roommates and they are still pretty good even cold. They were fast and could deliver for a higher price. I had no problem picking up the pizza cause it was right next to CC Paintball and I had to return the paint anyways. So we just need to work out how many people want pizza and I might even just take the money up front to help keep better records. I'm short this time because I ordered too many pizzas and paint so that was my bad and I'll get a better head count next time.

          6. The raffle was just an idea I put out there and it's going to take some help to get it to work right. The suggestion of the tickets being free was brought up and I think would work well if we can get everyone together, maybe at lunch, and have a good game plan as to how to draw numbers and such. I have a few ideas, but I'm still working on it. I'd like it if everyone could walk away with something other then welts and a smile on their face.

          7. Pictures are a great idea and normally I'd jump all over the idea of being in charge of video and pictures since thats kind of my job in real life anyways. (I'm a videographer and editor for a production company as well as a freelance web designer.) Just with everything else going on with registration and all the money I'm going to have to back off from taking on the pictures and maybe video. I brought a camera and camcorder this last time and it was very hard for me not to pull it out because I wanted to have some fun and enjoy playing while not stressing about taking pictures. We might even be able to give our ref the cameras and have him take pictures. We need to figuare this out so we can document this great event.

Well thats about all I can think of for now. I think we need to start up a new thread pretty soon to hash out the details for the Feb. 9th game, but I'm fine with staying here for now. Thanks again guys for making this a great event and so much fun. I look forward to taking all your money next time.

If i can manage to rent or buy a lens long enough to take good paintball pictures and not get hit... I will definitely sit for a few rounds and shoot the game with a different instrument.

I just happen to not have the proper lens due to what i actually shoot...

I've got a Pentax with 100X zoom (10 optical and 10 digital) that I'll bring but it's only 4 meg and kinda slow so action shots are a little rough and mega zoomed shots are somewhat grainy. The camera itself can be "baggied" and should be OK.

No worries... I am hoping to sell my ripper body and airwalk frame which would give me almost enough to buy the 70-200 f4L lens for my Canon 30d that I have been wanting for a long time now...

Major facelift to the first post. Added all new info, and fixed up other sections.

Food, paint, and admission will all be handled in the morning. If sk8ermog, does not wish to handle any of the aspects aside from admission, I will gladly work to repay the disaster I threw him into the 19th.

Will we want to move to a different position? if we still decide in the back-right area, I will pick out two tables nearby for us to meet at after morning rules.

POST UP IF YOU'D LIKE SK8ERMOG TO BUY YOU A CASE AT CC PAINTBALL.

Thanks for all the set-up to everyone who helped. I had a great time.
And to Skatermog, I've got some lunch money for you next time. By the time I remembered to snag it from the car I couldn't find you.

I met some of you during your last event at SC (I was one of the Refs @ Chronograph)

I am looking forward to seeing you all on the 9th at SC.

If I am not playing I will be at the park any ways.
