I think killing a kid kind of ruins it. I would think that having the main character and his girlfiend being the victims might work better. A little cliche, but the death of kids creates a kind of moral crisis in some people. You go to great lengths to make the main characters sympathetic (death of mom, taking kid to the ball game) then off them. This story made me upset, rather than frightened.

I think the trick is to create characters that the reader neither likes or dislikes. If they like them, they get angry when they die, not scared. And if they hate them, they cheer when they die. If they have neutral feelings towards them, then the attention shifts from anger/glee over the death of the character to the horror of what befalls the victim.

Thats just my take, at least.

Is the 1st is a Saturday, and I need to crash at someones house, is a friday night bad? that might be a consideration.

Ryan - Connor and I are helping to host my mother-in-law's 80th birthday party on Sunday. If you are anywhere near Sacramento or Folsom on sunday and you see a bunch of Cadillacs coming your way, hit the shoulder. It might be our guests.

Saturday is a wedding, also no go. That would be great to have you come our way, though, let's try that some other time.

November 1st or 2nd works best for me in regards to the next AO Day. I still need to test out my my E-blade in a live game.

BTW, here's an Atkins update: It's been 2 months and 1 week that i've been on this diet and I've lost 40lbs of chub. So on this upcoming AO Day #5, expect to see me running to the 50 in the first 5 games..

Okay, I'm leaning towards Sunday, November 2nd, for the next AO day. Any objections to this?

We also have to decide on the field. The suggestions right now are Extreme, WAP, and Valley Thunder. I talked withe Nachos, and he told me that Valley Thunder should have a 5000 PSI compressor on-line by the end of the month.
