Look this isn't really going anywhere. Not to knock the efforts of the good AO people, but we need to come up with a concrete date and place if this is ever going to get off the ground. All this maybe this..maybe then... stuff is just going to keep the date getting pushed back more and more. Furthermore that date should be set by one person: I nominate Tobe2be. This is his thread, and he should decide where and when. Now obviously I'm biased because I like the down/mid state locations he's suggested, but regardless of where the event is held some people are going to be happy and some people are gonna be pissed. There is nothing we can do about that. So I vote that Tobe2be comes up with a date, and time, and we set that date+time in stone. Then we can get a better idea of who is actually going to be there, etc. Anyway just my two cents.Comment

I think Tobe2be said something about the weekend of the 27-28 (March). I like this because its the first weekend of our spring break. I don't mind driving a bit, but it would be nice to see something take form. Even if we just take over ABC

nj ao day 3 was organized by about 10 people. it took damn near 5 months to organize. so you shouldnt rush this. if you want it to happen next week just say everyone show up at abc this sunday.Comment

Not to be an ***, but if it took 5 months to organize, that might have something to do with the large number of people doing the organizing(sp?). 5 mos is a long time to plan. While I don't want this to be just a "meet at abc" event (where the hell is abc?), this doesn't need to be planned like we are invading Normandy. All I'm asking for is a single solid date and location, so I can mark up my schedule. In the past I've found that those dates tend to materialize when one person takes charge, and sticks to his/her guns despite the minority's inevitable objection.Originally posted by Wc Keep

ok not for nothin i agree with WC keep... it takes much time and effort from a lot of people to get a nice AO meet going.... it took Unka Phil about 6 months to organize the SEAO meet... and it was a blast... im not trying to rush anything... but im looking at the march date.... WC if you want to help let me know... your always good for something....somtimes.... maybe... lolComment

well I guess I can't argue with that. It's your thread, and if you want to spend a while planning thats your perogative. I hope that a solid date/time can be found soon though, my calendar fills up real fast and its hard to fit things in without a fair bit of advance warning.Comment

chester i thank you for your input but i dont want to push it faster than it can go. as in a set date i dont want to set one before i know exactly what feild ima hold it at. as soon as i get a good feild with a good deal i will set a date. keeps if you want not the weekend comming up but the following i want to go feild hunting for bargainsComment

Tobe2be, if you need any help calling places trying to get deals and such, ask. I'd like to help doing whatever I can. Also, would it be helpful if we got a tentative roster going? I know that with NJAO3, they wanted to know how many people were going so they could figure out costs. Even if its preliminary and a guestimate, created another thread and editing the first post as people say they are interested may help. how about hosting NYAO day in conjunction with a West Point big game. We would be supporting the Cadets, it's a little up state, but still close to NYC and LI.
They have games every april and sept. and it could tie in nicely with Tom's new direction of scenario markers.
Sept 2002 they had 10,000 rds of blanks , smoke grenades and concussion grenades. and real bunkers built by the 101st Airborne. nothing lik a m60 rattling right next to you, or charging a hill behind a cadet with a m16 firing blanks.
and i'm not a milsim kinda guy, but it was fun !!!Comment
