I'm thinking we should deem this a megameet. Not necessarily Nor vs So (I don't wanna represent a rebel flag) meaning we get together play, have some fun and maybe have a small n vs s game. I'm willing to lend any advice or help I can. email me ... [email protected] if you need help.

Thats a good idea. If we just had a "AOCA DAY" instead of a "AONORCAL or AOSOCAL" day maybe after a couple of big ones with a big turnout Tom would come Maybe.

I think it was always intended to be just a general AOCAL day, I just think we were having fun with the whole "vs" thing. I fully expect us to mix and match players.

Lets get this thing organized. I want to set some leave aside for it and get everything set-up.

Well I don't have any info on the field in SLO so I can't say for sure but I wouldn't mind the second weekend in January. What would also be tight is if we could get the In-N-Out truck there. That would make it heaven.

Yes HOPEFULLY. I am pretty sure I wont be making any visits today because I will be passing SLO about 8pm. However, for those of you how know SLO, thursday night is the BBQ night!!! Ill be planning my trip around that see. Ideally I would like to contact someone at CalPoly (anyone reading this perhaps?) because they may be able to help me locate "Wil" (wallace9111 on AO). He says that he will be posting the information on AO shortly but I would still like to see this place first hand. I will be driving down today and pass SLO around 8pm and then be coming back up past SLO around 4-5pm Thursday. If any of you College or AO guys or gals read this and think you can help me out, feel free to call me on my cell at 831 277-0803. I may not answer today till after 6pm but I WILL get the message.

Remember LPB, I would like to set a date, but it's better to find a place to play first . We still have no gaurentee that this field will be available yet.

I know we haven't got the place yet but how does Mid January sound? Like Jan 16, 17, &/or 18th? Probably couldn't do it the weekend afterwards cause I believe that might be Super Bowl weekend.

FIELD STATUS UPDATE:

I have received some of the basic field information from wallace9111 and hopefully I will have some pictures available in a few days. below is basically wat I was given:

"The fields are 100 yards each, both have netting, both right now are comprised of board bunkers and hyperball material. I will get pics soon so you can see the place for yourself. Also, we are all putting in $100 each and buying a airball field here with in the next 2 months, and we are starting to charge for our field so we will have the field soon enough. If you need any more info i can draw up and take some pictures of the field this weekend. Also, I talked to our store about their airball field, and Army from AO. If you guys can get people to commit and either pay before they come so the field has an idea of how many people are coming and will make a profit vs. 10 people showing up and they wasted their money, or you call them and talk to them with names of people that want to play so they feel that they should set up the field."

So tis is all very good it seems. I think Ill start collecting a complete list of ALL CA AO memebers (in addition to Mighty Mike's NorCal list) so that I can spam everyone about this in the future when its almost set. Woohoo! it's taking shape.

I don't think a date in Jan. is a good idea. I think for us to get the maximum turnout, a date should be chosen far enough in advance so people can arrange their schedules around it.

Nov-Dec has the holidays, so people are usually pre-occupied. A good solid 3 months notice of the OFFICIAL (set in stone) date should give enough time to arrange their schedules.

OK I have been talking for some time with wallace9111 regarding this game. Based off the people who voted on this poll (unless a huge majority want something else and did not vote) that this AO Day should be in January sometime. I think it is time to create a new thread to get names, dates, and prices on stuff so that we can start taking reservations and the field can prepare for us. Looks like they are very interested in having us come down and we could get a BBQ going as well as have 3 different fields going full time. I will start a new thread with all the info I have collected thus far and I will also start the PM thing. I know its a bit of a faux pas, but i I post a little something on the PB Talk forums and the Friendly Corner linking this thread I am sure that we will get some more people committed. Picts of the fields will be available hopefully this Wed!
