Any AO'ers planning on making the trip to the big game at SplatterPark Sunday, May 16? I was told today they are anticipating 1000 to attend!

Hummm....

I was thinking about playing the new X-Ball field at Splat Paintball in Canal Fulton ( Near Canton ) on the 15th ... but maybe I'll decide to make the drive back down to Columbus on Sunday ... I guess it will depend on my fiends if they can change the date they want to play... Sounds fun...

From what I gathered yesterday while I was up there, they are installing a paint "mine field" which selected teams will have to navigate through for bonus points, along with many other surprises.

I hadn't planned on going initially, but I took my girlfriend up there yesterday to play (it was her first time), and she insists on going next weekend now. I think my teammates are going as well, so it looks like I've got a group of 5 (at least) to this point. Seriously, I expected my girlfriend to like paintball, but I am especially surprised that she is this enthusiastic about it after being overshot on the mounds by some moron with an A5, who added 3 shots to the throat for good measure.

She's a born baller. We went out last night and she was sooooo proud of all her welts.

Shouldn't be too expensive for the day - it certainly doesn't appear that costs are any different from a normal open play date. ($17 admission for one day membership and $55/case Premium + air fill tickets).

I may be going. I live in Pittsburgh....Splat is 3 hours away. So it just depends on if I can get a ride out there. I got a warped mag with freak and ULE.

Well, after we played Saturday, I thought I might be a definate. As of now (Tuesday) I'm not so certain. For one, I probably went harder this past weekend than I have in a long time ... it's now four days since I played and my thighs still feel like I've been out riding a bike for 30 miles. Second, it's looking like rain from tonight until Saturday. SplatterPark definately has some drainage problems, both in front of Fort Buckeye and in 'The Hole.' I'll be watching the forecast very closely before I make a decision. I should have a better guess by Thursday.

Yeah I have to agree the weather is a big determining factor as well... It's been years since I have been to splatterpark ... but "The Hole" didn't seem like the place to be when it will be more likely referred to as The Swamp or even The Lake and it will only get worse with hundreds of boots mucking up the place...

Maybe a better time and possibly local for an AO-OH even if just a mini one ...

I know I am planning on a game likely June 5th or 6th... that will have a block of my friends ?

Splatter park is cool too, as is "paintball village" in Olmstead...

Yeah Splat in Canal Fulton outside of Canton is fun, and it is run by a friend of mine... Yeah they now got plenty of Air Bunkers they mix and match um up every day ... Their Air set ups are nice and top notch fully netted in as well... Like I said I'll probably be there this weekend...

But their woods field isn't the best ( Hey he's a friend but it's and honest review )

But hey I miss the days of playing at Blackhawk the field ran by BOA Barrels... some of the best rec ball / woods fields I have played when they were nice and well maintained... I guess they still take reserve groups occasionally now but it isn't what it was... and the speed ball set up was a little lacking... And hey gotta repect a place owned and ran by a former AGD Tech ...

It would be fun to set up an AO-OH day ... but I know I am willing to drive but most of my group won't drive much more than an hour / and hour and half to play... but that gives a lot of options in east central ohio...

Depending on FPO prices and where it's held, I could probably make it to a mini AO-OH day that weekend. With The BASH and And Justice For All a month apart, I can't really commit more than $50 to a weekend date between those two events, but my weekend schedules are wide open for the forseeable future.

June is always a busy month... I have weddings every other weekend in that month so that is why I have that date going... And I totally agree with the cash flow issues of it all...

That is one of the reason I like playing at Splat so much... they are about the cheapest I have seen that is still a decent place... They have a 9+ rating on PB review as well I think... www.splatpaintball.org ...

$10 Field fee - $1/1k or $3/Fill or $10 all day air (( There is often a lot of local coupons and stuff buy one field fee and get one free that I split with friends )) and Paint prices vary but is typically $35 for field paint which I useally is Big Ball $40 for Premimium and $50 for Marbalizer and he has some others mixed in and it is always fresh ... And I think they started offering BYOP on Saturdays... I think they also might offer group rate discounts, and as I said the field owner is a friend of mine so I might be able to haggle something for us if we draw enough ?

As I said their Air Ball field is among the best I have played with over 50 bunkers now... Woods fields are so so...

If that date is bad for you we can maybe look to put something out a ways... May like July 10/11 or 17/18 ... heck even in the fall somewhere if we want to try to make it a little bigger... Or move it to a larger venu ?

Just still kicking around ideas but this could be fun...

Ahhh NTN ... you are the one Bruce said was there today ... I seen him too... and asked if he was one of my guys since he joked I probaly know of all the mags in this half the state... LOL ...

As I said I am thinking June 5 or 6th for the game... and I am more than willing to set it up ... I'll be there this weekend and will talk to him some more...

I am planning on being there anyway on that date... I just would want a little definate interest here and I'll be happy to handle all the AO set up duties...
