I'm moving to Oakland CA here soon, and will be making some good money. I am on Team Engineer with BlackVCG, but we are all graduating college and we will not get to play together much any longer. I'd be wanting to play every weekend once I move down there starting July 1. Also, does anyone know any good places to live around 14th street in Oakland?

Welcome! Nice places to live in Oakland are hard to come by. Honestly, its a tough town, though there are some very nice areas, particularly the Montclair area. I'd love to know where on 14th you will be working, as I work on 13th

You'll also be happy to know that we have a thriving AO community in Norcal. Oakland puts you within striking distance of several nice fields. SCP in San Jose, Midway in Vacaville, and Venture in Concord are all a relatively short trip away. If you want to drive a bit further, WAP, Valley Thunder, Extreme, and TAG are also out there. -

You better come down steve. I have been wanting to shoot you for a while now.
Tooth: There are tons of good fields out here to play at. Skirts and I play pretty much every sunday so you can always tag along with us. I also wouldnt recomend living near 14th street. I wouldnt really recomend living in oakland unless you are making enough money to get a place in a decent neighborhood such as Rockridge.

I was watching the new simpsons this weekend, and they made a reference to Oakland. They were escaping alcatraz and one of them said they couldnt afford anything in San Fran as they were swimming towards it, so they turned around and headed for Oakland.
