Va AO day (ver 1.3) updated poll

This is a new thread (ver 1.3) with a more compact list of fields for the poll, please post a date that you are interested in and if you prefer saturdays or sundays

i have dropped the poll down to just Pev's for northern VA and Splatbros and PB Authority for central VA. For this poll we will combine the totals for Splatbros and PBA so if those two COMBINED is voted higher than Pev's then it will be in Central VA at the winner out of those two (um yeah, doesn't seem too confusing )

Ok, we have tried this before, but they have always fizzled out ahead of time.

First we need to pick a place for the event.

Centraly located fields:
Splatbros (45 min south east of Richmond) www.splatbrotherspaintball.com
Paintball Authority (15 min west of Richmond) www.pbauthority.com

Northern Fields:
Pevs (3 hours or more depending on DC traffic north of Richmond) www.agpaintballgames.com


After we decide on a location we can decide on a day, i prefer sundays

some additional info on the central fields:

Paintball Authority www.pbauthority.com is in powhatan which is about 20 minutes west of South Side Richmond. This is a good field, has great grass turf and multiple air ball fields (including this years Muddy-Mardi Gras Xball field). The only down side is they are a little bit pricey. However, i know the owner as does asian and he is more than willing to work out a paint deal if we get a large enough crew. They usually only do 3k fills, but do have a ram (they workers are usually unable to hook it up though).

Splatbrothers paintball www.splatbrotherspaintball.com is about 45 minutes south east of Richmond in Hopewell. this is also a very excellent field. It is the home field for several teams including aftermath (div 3 xball) and home field for Ronn Stern www.ronnstern.com. Ronn is the famous paintball artist and a great friend to Tom Kaye and of course shoots a nice emag. Ronn is also great friends with Josh Silverman (the crazy jew of paintball 2Xtremes magazine). Donn Hager, owner of splatbros is a good friend of mine, and i know that if we get a decent crew together we can work out a paint deal.

They have excellent UA fields, 80+acres of wood fields. and i think they have an Xball field. I haven't been there since december, and i know they are supposed to have it by summer, so they might have it now. They also do 45k fills

Also, if we do this at Splatbros, i bet we can get Josh from PB2X to come down there and do an article about it. So you could even get your mug in the best paintball magazine out.

Hey guys,

I few people have asked me to look into a few things in looking at Pev for the AO event. As of right now I have talked to my team to do the reffing duties, that gives up 13 or so people to ref. I still have to talk to pev about using the air ball fields for a mini 3 man tourny, and I am guessing that there will also be a group playing in the woods as well.

Typically general field fees would be $15 a person, and BYOP, but considering we would be using the air fields that would cut his normal paying cutomers off from using them so that charge my change depending on what I can work out and how many peope wer are talking about doing this.

While we dont have bleachers YET, all the tournament fields are netted, there is amble parking and staging and if I CAN manage it we will have our own air truck for all day fills but again thats going to depend on how things work out with Pev.

But I need to get a good idea what kind of numbers of people we are talking about here. I mean it its 20 people, thats a privet group and we dont need to both with my team reffing, if its 70+ then its more of a worry.

I'm down for any of the fields and now my weekends are totally free so either day is fine. Whichever field can get us a good deal is the one I vote for. If Pevs can match Splatbrothers quote of $15 including all day air/co2 then I lets go to Pevs. If they can't I don't mind going down to Splatbrothers.

Since Splatbrothers has the best deal yet, then I'm voting for that one so far. $15 including all day air is a bargain



I'll probably be bringing 2-3 more guys if we do it sometime in July.

PBA really isnt to pricey. If you take the fees from the paint you buy online and the field fees it isnt to much cheaper, unless of course you have a paint sponsor. . I voted for PBA due to the fact that there is more variety of fields then Splatbrothers. But im game for all 3 of the fields. Id like to play on a Sunday, preferably sometime mid july.

Where did I EVER state that?
I still am an advocate for a more central location to accomodate more people.
But Im not one to complain if the people choose Pevs.

PEV'S!!!! Because, damn, it's Pev's. Practically the best there is. And FalconGuy is at christian camp right now (*sigh*), so count him as another vote if it gets down to it, he mentioned in the other thread and to me enough times.
