AO Mid East Coast Meet and Greet!!!
WHO: Anyone packing a mag or registered on AO (anyone basically)
WHEN: Oct 17th (sunday)
WHERE: Splatbrothers paintball in Hopewell Virginia (about 30 minutes south of Richmond) and only 10 minutes from I-295 www.splatbrothers.com
COST: If you have your own gear, $15 (with all day air) and you can BYOP. However Diablo paints start at 55 a case (or if we have enough people that are interested, i can see about getting a deal for it cheaper if most of use use field paint...but i'm not promising).
We for the most part will have the entire facilities to ourselves. Normally this sunday would be a team practice day, but Don (the owner) said he would just tell them they are closed for a private party. So we should have full run of the place.
Splatbros has three 5 man UA fields and might have Xball by then.....might! They have a ton of real nice wooded fields too 88+ acres.
Ronn Stern www.ronnstern.com will also be there, he is a fellow emager (good friend of TK too) and is the imfamous paintball artist. His work is featured in virtually all the paintball mags and has his own line of apperal and gear. He also along with Don of splatbros officiates the Ronn Stern paintball camps that i know you all have heard about.
If you need to spend the night, the hotel best suited is the Ameri Suites located at the intersection of I-295, and Rt 10 (the field is located off of Rt 10 about 10-15 minutes away from the hotel). They have an outdoor heated pool that will be available. All rooms are suites (so they have a kitchenet). Rooms sleep 6 people (2 per bed). Splatbro's contact is Monica Beasley at (804)530-4600. This is the hotel that houses the campers for the Ronn Stern paintball camps, and she told me that the campers like to bring their Xbox'es and have Halo parties and stuff......so thats not a bad idea. The normal room rate is $99, however for splatbros it is $79, so if you call to book be sure and speak with Monica and mention splatbros etc..... I have not blocked any rooms, however i can once we get closer and have a better idea of attendence.

piss/poor weather policy:
in keeping with the current trend of hurricane after hurricane after hurricane i think we need to make some precautions as if the weekend of the 17th might get f'ed up too (like all the others since late july).
If it looks like real bad weather, we will need to postpone this event for say one month to November 14th.
if it is just going to be drizzley like last time, GAME ON!

Paint status UPDATE:
well, due to some unfortunate missunderstanding on splatbros part (perhaps i was not clear...????) we will not be allowed to BYOP
Goodnews/Badnews:
Good news is that the due to new negotiations to straighten out this mess, i was able to get Zap Primer (what most of us were going to shoot anyways at 35 a case.
Bad news is that we ALL have to buy it there. Now if this makes it so some of you can't attend, please let me know via PM's ONLY and we will work on it.
Now if this news makes all of you so mad you don't want to attend if it is at splatbors, i can try and arrange for us to move the AO day to a newer field called Total Eclipse
It is just a little south of Fredricksburg (about 1 hour north of Richmond...so a little over an hour from the splatbros). Darkripper went there last weekend and said it is a very nice small field that for 12bux entry with all day air you can't beat it. It has two airball fields and 1 wooded town. I think he also said you can BYOP, but i am waiting to hear back from DR on that.
Again guys, i am very sorry about this mess up guys....i guess thats what happens when you do the deal over the phone with a VERY busy man (who apperantly didn't write everything down)
Zap primer: 35 a case (this is what we used at the last AO day, and what i shoot most of the time and it works great)

Meeting Place UPDATE:
On the morning of the 17th we will be meeting in the parking lot of McDonalds at the interesection of of I-295 and rt. 10/Ironbridge Rd. This McD's is just a few hundred yards from the Hotel that several guys are staying at. We will meet at 8ish and the caravan for the field will leave at 8.30!!!! My cell is 804.986.9134....make sure you have it!!!!! If you are running late or can't find it call me. We certainly don't want you to miss out if you running a couple minutes late.
If you are coming from I-295 like most of you NOVA and NC guys you will take the chester exit....NOT hopewell and you'll see McD's on the right.
