Was that when you set your bed of boxes on fire at badlandz?

Definately extra lube. I keep two bottles at all times. Can't leave home w/o your lubricant.

Did anybody played on the night game or was that cancelled? I saw at least 3 tents before I left saturday afternoon. And where was the AO-IL flag?
That was a pretty cool format. At least for me that just plays from time to time its easy enough to just jump in there and play. Unlike those mission games that it takes me half of the day just to get orientated.

                    My experiences

IronCore, you shoulda asked Korrosion (the guy at the 'air table') where the AO guys were. It was only me & him on Sat

Well, I had a great time there. The only problems I had were caused by my own stupidity. After registering, I decided to see if my LvlX tuning had work(ran out of air the night before). Numbnuts that I am, I managed to lose a carrier when I dropped it at the chrony range It's a good thing I spent some time there tho, cuz I found out that the case of 6month old field Blaze i brought with had become as bad as BE paint. I counted 15+ breaks(not chops) from balls that are way too small for my .689 Snapshot. After buyin a case of Bigball for $35, I found out that it dropped straight through too(guess it's time for a .687 back ), but it shot much better too. I was also hoping to test out my ne Hyperflow courtesy of kxpaintball, but Vet's day along w/ USPS ground screwed that up. I also found out that my revvy lid had broken at the hinge(BE pos!!) & I had to by a new one for $55(cheapest hopper they had )!

By 1:00 I was finally good to go. The field was 2-300 yards long with 4(I think 5) capture points on the field. There was each team's forts, a mini fort of barrels, and another mini forts of airball tacos & laydowns. One thing I liked was that there wasn't a 10 foot rule, only no contact, but that would come to haunt Korrosion(more later). I was on the blue team, arguably the disadvantaged team. I say that b/c we had to walk a couple minutes before we saw any action. Red reins went straight into the thick of it. On my first insertion, red had the barrels & we had the airball. Both objectives are on the edge of a clearing leading to the red fort. When I got to that clearing, I shot one guy out from the edge of the clearing & moved to one of the bunkers. That got the attention of another red by the barrels. I told another blue in the bunker next to me that he had me posted & I popped out, gtting off some snap shots. He landed on on my wrist, but my other guy got him too.

Sit around & BS w/ Korroison, wonder where the hell AO guys are ,& finally reinsert. This time, we're going for the airball. I get there & I see a blue on my side behind one of the tacos. Suddenly, there is a flurry of electro fire & a blue in the woods goes out. Another guys tries to creep up on him & is shot. 2 more go & the guy in the taco shoots & is shot. I'm crawling up on the black mass in the woods when a red pops out from the far side taco. It's all I can do to look at him before he soots me. COMMUNICATE PEOPLE!!! Well, I decided to skip an insertion & take a small break. Clean up, have some water, a hot dog, more BSing with Korrosion. I think it's about this time that a red comes off the field & proceeds to ***** him out about the fact that there's no 10 foot rule & ppl are shootin hot & refs should chrony & tag every marker with nail polish(NAIL POLISH!! no thanks, man..) & he's the Safety Officer for the local National Guard or Reserves or something. I'm asked to give them some time, so I figure I'll go back in.

By this time we(blue) had taken the airball & were pressing the red fort. I very causually sauntered up the right side & ocuppied a bunker that went longways with the field. It gave me fine cover against the fort & I tried to shoot guys in the towers, but it's kinda hard to track dark paint against the dark woods. Then the reds got some reins & I was royally screwed. At least 2 guys in the fort were posted on me & I was totally exposed to the reins. I held my position for a couple minutes & even let a guy touch the fort after he asked nicely, but in the end I was shot when I had posted a couple of guys behind the fort & 1 in the laydown right next to it. The end came when a red snuck out of the woods & got me before I could get him. During this insertion, I also found out the hard way that I had no problems with my mask fogging, but my glasses were.

More BSing with Korrosion when a kid is having trouble with his Aardvark. Korrosio asks to see what he can do & the problem seems deeper than it first looks. He offers to loan the kid his Trix(what a nice guy) & tech his gun later in the day. Reinsert again, for what is to be the final push on the red fort. We are being flanked on the left by 2 reds & some blues get them. I'm having some bolt stick probs( ended up being the FS screw, duh ) but I'm still doing my part. I move up to the bunker closest to the left corner. After a few minutes, a blue runs to the left corner from the center. I'm trying to give him some cover when a red pops out of the tower above him & shoots him when my marker decides to not fire(FS screw, grrrr......). After a few more mins, I'm outta paint, but I stay in to see what I can do. I hear some talk of a charge, so i scrambled to a small ridge a few feet in front of the fort. While I had their attention, the rest of the blues moved up. Another few tense minutes go by as we clear the fort. There is some left to right friendly fire & a blue goes out. We thought we had them all out & a blue runs to change the flag, & recieves some fire from a hidden red. The blue made it to cover & the red is shot. We finally took the fort as it was getting dark & ended the first game. Score, BLUE: a lot RED: diddly squat.

All in all it was a fun game. I wish I could've stayed longer, but I still hadn't seen my sister. I can't come home to play paintball & ignore my family, you know There were a lot of complaints form reds about how they were sick of defending the fort, but that was no fault of field design or poor reffing, they simply sat their..butts in that fort. It was a well run event, especially considering that they had a large private group & team practice going on at the same time. This was also my first time at Badlandz, & I must say, I like it I'll definitely be there again next time, & I'll stay for the WHOLE the next time too

Hey frop, thanks for the excellent review. And snyper: I WANT PICS.
That guy for the air national whatever was talking out his *** 'cause someone traded out with him and didn't ask for a surrender. I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

well...turns out i didn't go straight home after the game so i'll try to get the pictures up later tonight.

Most aoers.....well....there were practically no aoers
Korrosion, Deathstalker, FallNAngel, Me, and....umm...i believe that was it on sunday. But still had a great time raining a case of paint on a group of around 20-30 players huddle in a circle planning something.

Then it was also pretty fun camping the reinsertion and having all the blue guys getting pissed at us. (unfortunately raul probably authorized a different reinsertion location and sent a mob of about 20 angry players at the 3 of us)...TJ ran outa air, Nick ran outa paint, and i ran outa paint but we managed to gun down the majority of em

                        had a nice time.

My first insertion was around 11, so I figured I'll find you guys later. I went in for a nice walk with a group for about 200 yards on the west side until we started taking fire, we took over a flag station for about 5 minutes and got booted out. Then the fun started, for the rest of the day we'd deflect the blue team from taking over our fort after that I have about one or two pods left for a push. I think I saw Deathstalker (if I remember right) on the fort once. But for most of the day I just tried to hustle to the insertion point for a defence and some push on the west side.
One time there were about 5 of us behind the row of bushes and about 5 blue team on the other side, we shot each other for a bit but the paintballs just could'nt go thru, then we just taunted each other to give up...lol

And to whoever found my wallet, Thanks -Id give ya a case of paint
