Ohhhhh Canada...land of the ****ed up, half assed rotarys (roundabouuuuuts). Good thing we brought out inner M******* with us, and promptly banged 4-5 U-Turns.

Well, I went back pretty early, and it was a blast
Hope someone took good pictures...The only one I have is that siamese twin paintball....
Amazing mags to everyone, and my personal favorite was Creatives Mayhems RT with the 6pack....That reminds me, Thanks Creative Mayhem for Organizing it all, it was fun
To bad my under-agedness gives me reason to not attend the bar/party for the Ao'ers, and staying for the second day.Last edited by Maggot6; 09-24-2005, 05:42 PM.Comment

Well the first day was awesome. Meeting a bunch of the guys from AO was a real treat. I know that tonight there will be more than a few toasts to those that couldn't make. For those that couldn't make it you've missed out on a lot of fun. The forth coming photos should prove that. Must make my to the bar before everyone drinks all the beer on me.Comment

paintball, thunderstorms, and a bad tranny
Well, just got in about an hour ago. Had a great time (didnt get to play today, as our plans got kinda screwed up), had lots of fun yesterday though. Not as large a turnout as was originally expected (shame on you that cancelled), but, a good showing. Was good to see some regular faces, as well as meet a couple of new people.
I didnt take any pics (sorry), but, here is a rundown of the weekend:
First, streetsigns in Canada are odd, to say the least. First, its a ROTARY, not a roundabout. Second, I STILL have no clue what the male questionmark sign really means. Third, Dan became quite proficient at doing u-turns on the highway
. Ok, so, we get to Jeremy's at a little past midnight. Some of the crew was there, had a couple beers, then went to bed (tent for most of the mass-holes). Day one; enroute to the field, Dan's van loses 4th gear. Not good. We getr there, travelling much slower, and have to now devise a plan for getting home the next night (ended up renting from the buffalo airport). We get to the field, meet, and have the speedball field all to ourselves. Play a bunch of games, just generally hang out. Many pics I am sure will follow.
Second half of the day, we play rec-ball with the walkons. Now, normally I hate recball, but, when you're buddies are on the other side, it can be great. We had a BLAST. Jeremy got a lucky shot off with the pump and got me in the buttcheek.
End of the day of play, back to speedball. All I have to say there is Alley overshot me
.
So, we go back, clean up, and head to the restaurant next to the hotel where most everyone is staying. Had poutines (AWESOME!!!), dinner, and a few beers. Joe, Rob and Jeremy had to go pick up a car, so, they left after eating. It was a pretty mellow night, not too many locals to pick on.
All in all, it was a good time. I wish (as do Rob and Joe) that we couldve played today, but, alas, fatye conspired against us.
Jeremy, thankls for everything. Thanks for letting us crash there, thank your family for their hospitality, and thank the field owners for hosting us. To the AO crew; it was good seeing you all again, and getting to meet a couple more. Hopefully, most of you can make AONJ. I dont think we got a chance to say goodbye to absolutely everyone before we left this morning, so, if we missed you, dont be offended.
Dan, hope it works out that it was cheap. And, hope you dont get stuck there indefinitely.
Lastly; Jeremy, hope you enjoyed the donuts!!!!Comment

No. Streetsigns in Hamilton are Bizzare. The rest of the country seems to have a decent handle on proper signage. Although in Quesbec they are often either French or some funny pictogram.Originally posted by oldsoldierFirst, streetsigns in Canada are odd, to say the least.
Well, if you must insist on using non-Britich and Canadian terms, I could settle on "traffic circle".Originally posted by oldsoldierFirst, its a ROTARY, not a roundabout. Second, I STILL have no clue what the male questionmark sign really means.
But here and everywhere else in the English world I think "roundabout" is the common term.
As far as that sign goes, I hope someone got a picture of it to post.
I had a great time, am thoroughly sore and tired, but very happy that I made the trip.
After playing till the very end on Sunday, I had a meal with Kevin and Debra, then embarked on the journy home at about 7pm.
After making some stupid error before Toronto, I ended up on the 401 West
. A couple of exits further on, the brain kicked in and I got myself turned around.
A fairly uneventlful drive home, fuelled by coffee and some good rock stations
I stayed fully awake for the whole trip (not the case for some of my fellow travellers as there were cars at the side of the road and one that ended up in the ditch
). My pitstops were more often required because I wanted to let the gaggle of morons that were driving around me get past and far away.
I finally arrived home at 2am.
Hope to see everyone in person again some time soon.
