      No problem. The Commonwealth troops were a lot of fun and kicked some but. We had a good time when we linked up with you. This year should be even better! In some ways we'll be linked even closer with you guys in '08.

      And the Allied armor has been reorganized into the 2nd Armor Group. It wil be steps above where it has been in the past. If you have aninterest in bringing a tank, plane, APC or any vehicle please get with them. There is a limit of 20 vehicles per side this year (that means there could be 40 tanks total!). The web site for the 2nd Armor Group is http://www.2armorokdday.com/ This unit will consist of tanks, anti-tank units artillery, aircraft and suporting infantry. It even has an MP unit for "special" assignments.

      The 82nd will be made up of 5 Regiments including Pathfinders - the 504th Parachure Infantry Regiment (PIR), the 505th PIR, the 507th PIR, the 508th PIR and the 325th Glider Infantry Regiment (GIR). If a well organized milsim style paintball event, with 4000+ players, on 750 acres sounds like your idea of fun please let us know. You can contact me at [email protected] or visit the web site and forum at http://www.ddayadventurepark.com

        This is a link that shows a lot of the off-field efforts that are going on at D-day. It shows some of the organization and preparation that goes into the event, including the Allied TOC, the degree of detail that goes into some of the Allied armor, etc.

        The 82nd and the Allies offer a number of fun, tactical course during the week, and we play and practice as a unit in the mini-scenario games (300-900 people). The Small Unit Tactics and Leadership course (SUTAL) will be back next year (FREE) and tweaked to our new assignment, mission, and objective.

        We'll also have the Advanced Airborne Assault course (AAA), which is open and useful to all Allied players. Both of these courses are for Allied players and are lots of fun combined with good practical tactics and methods. Everyone last year had a blast and learned a bunch.

        These are in addition to the sniper course and the obstacle course. There's a lot going on during the week of D-day!

        We're still 8+ months out and registration is just starting to really get going. But after Christmas the spots fill up quickly. Last year the 82nd was one of the most popular Allied units and I expect it to fill up this year. If you have questions just let me know.

        Steve

          Allied press release

          This PRESS Release is designed to help keep everyone who
          has any interest in the Oklahoma D-Day event up to date on
          late breaking news.

          1. The Bunker staff has announced that they are now taking
          deposits for the son to be released 2007 Smith Productions
          2007 Oklahoma D-Day 2007. Anyone wishing to place their
          order is asked to visit the forum for further details.

          2. Both the Allied and German commands are encouraging
          players to show up in proper period uniforms. Some, who want
          to help preserve the memory of those who fought in WWII are
          looking to stay in character for the entire week. If you'd like to
          learn more about this, or you're just looking for a place to find
          sources for these types of uniforms, visit the forum and if you
          are either a WWII re-enactor, or period vehicle owner and you
          just want a place where you'll find 12-15,000 people to display
          before, drop me a line or visit the forum.

          3. Finally, as Maj. Gen Steve Risken has already said, the Allied
          Forces are actively seeking new recruits. Regardless of your
          experience, there's a slot waiting for you. Some units do have
          age restrictions, but generally any of them will be glad to add
          you to their ranks. Depending on YOUR DESIRE, there are's a
          host of specialized training opportunities available. We may
          look and act similar to an real Army, but we're also there to
          have fun, so don't think this is all work and no play. Like most
          things you get out of it what you put in to it, no more and no
          less.

          Sincerely,

          BG Andy Van Der Plaats, AKA 'DORSAI'

            Andy brings up a great point. It doesn't matter your level of exerience or syle of play. There's spots open at this point in all the units. Some units fill up early, especially the Pathfinders and the Airborne. This is the time to make your plans and figure out your unit. This is especially true if you're planning on building a tank, plane, command vehicle, or APC. This year we had to limit them to 20 for each side. But imagine - 40 tanks and almost 800 acres!

              I played with the Commonwealth at their home field in NC (Command Decision). Wow! A very squared away team. Their armor support is amazing. They have some of the most realistic looking vehicles I've ver seen.

                Just a little note pulled from the official 82nd Airborne website about LGOPs. Expect 2008 to be very different than 2007. We may very well be LGOPs spread over much of the field, or certain parts of the field. If you can turn this attitude into a paintball event, than the 82nd is your kind of unit!

                  1 Can Para

                  The 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry is expanding, and we are looking for players with energy, drive, determination, and discipline to fill its ranks for 2008. As part of the British 6th Airborne Division, Commonwealth Expeditionary Force, the members of the 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry will be called upon to lead Commonwealth offensive efforts across the length and breadth of the D-Day battlefield.

                  From Pegasus Bridge, to Sword Beach, to Caen, to Colleville, to the Airfield and beyond - in 2007, 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry members raised the Allied flag over four German objectives. We enjoy a winning tradition, and invite you to be a part of it.

                  The 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry brings together men and women from Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and around the world. Our players come from every walk of life, and every conceivable background. We welcome all levels of experience, from the first time player to the seasoned veteran. We are looking for candidates who exhibit personal integrity and sportsmanship, who can think and react independently, who have the discipline and strength of character to effectively represent the battalion and the Commonwealth, and who can work effectively as a member of a larger team.

                  We take team work and sportsmanship seriously, as evidenced by our win of the Sportsmanship Award at the SPPL Qualifier in Oklahoma in 2007.

                  As a Canadian paratrooper at Oklahoma D-Day you will deploy behind German lines, and be called upon to accomplish objectives in the face of overwhelming German opposition. You will be required to move quickly and quietly over vast distances, to assault fortified positions, and to coordinate your actions with other Commonwealth and Allied forces. If you want to be at the forefront of the largest and most incredible paintball event in the world, consider the 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry.

                  For more information about the event, check out: http://www.ddayadventurepark.com/

                  If you are interested in enlisting with the 1st Canadian Parachute Infantry, or want more information please contact one of the members of our command team:

                  RSM - Jon "GOD" Phan: [email protected]

                  Note that we are organizing convoys to transport players down to Oklahoma, one departing Ottawa (ON) and one departing Winnipeg (MB). If you would like to know more about the convoys, please get in touch with me.

                  Also be sure to check us out at the D-Day Commonwealth website: www.ddaycommonwealth.com

                    As Ghost mentions the Commnonwealth Forces are well lead, organized and prepared. It's a good choice. They have an airborne unit, armor, artillery and infantry. There is no unit on either side that is better organized!

                        British Commonwealth Update

                        Hello mates!

                        The Commonwealth growth is moving along splendidly, thus far.
                        The CanScots are full and the British 9th PIR and Canadian 1st
                        PIB are nearly so. Now is the time to register in the Commonwealth.
                        At the current rate, the Commonwealth Airbourne will be filled by
                        Christmas. We also have 34 Brits and 10 Aussies registered and
                        confirmed joining us in 08.

                        Cheers

                        Tacamo Testing Team

                        ~~~~~~~~~
                        Sir Ray has also asked me to post this request -
                        Well troops,
                        Since the Commonwealth is turning into a proper army, they
                        deserve a proper band to play for them. I am now actively
                        recruiting for musicians for a marching band from the active
                        ranks. These musicians will remain attached to their respective
                        units and will be temporarily attached to the band on an as
                        needed basis.
                        All Commonwealth troops are eligible to play in the band, not
                        just the ones with marching band experience. Although there
                        won't be any try-outs, common sense dictates that we can't use
                        a great amount of one type of instrument. The musicians must
                        provide their own instrument and our Drum Major must provide
                        his/her own mace.
                        I will be providing the music and additional instructions. Safe,
                        secure storage for the instruments will be provided by the
                        Commonwealth by way of a lockable Conex container.
                        All Commonwealth troops are encouraged to recruit musicians
                        from their respective schools or social groups to join the units.
                        One of our sponsors is able to provide full game kit for up to
                        150 additional troops and musicians at the rental price of $20
                        US for the week. These kits are for folks who would like to play
                        in the game, but don't want to buy their own equipment. The
                        kits will come from www.scenariosupply.com . At a minimum,
                        the kit will include a Tippmann 98 Custom, 4 pod pack, 4 100
                        round pods, 20 ounce CO2 bottle and a JT mask. Some marker
                        upgrades to A-5, X-7 and Tacamo Type 68 may be available,
                        but will go on a first come, first served basis. There may or
                        may not be 140 round pods for use, at no additional charge.
                        Please send me an email if you are interested and have any
                        other questions or visit our forum www.ddaycommonwealth.com .
                          We're working on the training courses. The SUTAL (Small Unit Tactics and Leadership) will be back with the guys from One Shepherd. Details are being worked out. The AAA course will be back again with the name tweaked to Advanced Allied Assault Course. It went so well last year we wanted to be sure that every Allied player, regardless of their unit, knew it was available to them. It will involve airborne, infantry, tanks, AT and more.
                            The first Allied unit has already filled, and other Allied units won't be far behind.
                            Here's an BBC audio recording of the 1st communique issued by SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force) concerning the Allied landing in France.
                            This was just the beginning. The end wasn't far behind. TGeneral James Gavin, the Commander of 82nd, ends up accepting the surrender of the German 21st Army less than 11 months later.
                            Be part of history, be part of the "tip of the spear", join the 82nd Airborne and the 82nd Pathfinders before it's too late and help us repeat history.
                                Just a quick update to let everyone know that the
                                British 3rd Infantry Division doesn't have any age
                                restrictions. Please ignore my earlier post and use
                                the link below to reach that unit's recruiting page.
