See, all it takes is a little communication. I thought something wasn't right. Hope to see you there.

Well paintballerJack, I'd be more than willing to say come run with My team and I, but we will be reffing the game this time. Depending on which side you get put on, there are a lot of great teams that will be more than willing to help you out or invite you and your friends to run missions with them and such. We'll be out there friday night so come find me or my team (we'll be the ones in black shirts that say "LAKESIDE" on the back) and ask for JR. I'll help you out where I can or answer any questions for you might have. Look forward to seeing you out there.

this was just sent to me by Jungle island as a way to appease people from last time..

The following changes are now in place with even more to come.
              1. Prereg players will have separate booth to get them in and out quick.
              2. We have added 5 more vehicles to add even more excitement to the game.
              3. Large tent area is up on the rear parking area. We'll have table and chairs set up for your comfort.
              4. BBQ grill will be allowed if they are propane etc.
              5. Carl Jr will be bringing the truck to serve burgers.
              6. BBQ dinner on sat night.
              7. We're renting an outdoor movie screen to show movie on Friday night.
              8. We have purchased a LARGE air compressor for the back parking lot.
              9. The hummer shuttle will be making trips from front back every few min.
10 We set up a PA system for the rear area to insure everyone get the word.
              11. Ben and I will be training the refs on the game.
              12. No "small" refs, we're using "BIG Game" players who will know how to ref this style of game.
13 We have order plenty of toilets and also a dumpster for the rear area.
              14. NEW paint vendor.
I will keep everyone updated as things happen and please feel free to send any comments suggestions. We really want you the player to have the VERY best game possible.

                  To "appease"?

Actually sounds like some good things that 99% of scenario field owners would kill to have.

That's awful kind of you. I have a feeling I am going to like scenario play _so_ much better than the rest of paintball...

I'm not sure I'll be up Friday. I did read about the showing of a movie friday night, and I would love to go, but I have work all the rest of this week, and Friday is going to be mainly prepping for Sat. & -possibly- Sunday. I live way north, the drive from my house to Jungle Island is about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic. There's a slim chance I can make it Friday, dunno. If I do I will definetly find you JR, .

: You bring up a good question. What side are all the AOers going to be on? I really couldn't care either side, so if I am amongst AOers, the more the marrier! It would be nice to be surrounded by a bunch of guys who know their **** too .

Some of that stuff is candy that wasn't really a problem at the last game. The big differences they're talking about that were isssues were the logistics of the back camping area. At any field, there's going to be a slight edge when one team inserts closer to the main staging area. At JI, one team inserts directly from it and the other team has to walk all the way across the field to get to it.

Last time, due to some SNAFU's, the shuttle didn't happen, and the air station at the back camp repeatedly went down and only had 3k fills to boot. I can live with 3k if both sides have that, but when one has 45 fills all event and the other is lucky to get over 2k most of the game, that's a real problem. I'm glad to see they're taking steps to fix it.

The PA system is also a big deal because the people at the main staging area got word of important game announcements, and heard about game-on quicker than the guys in the back.

The refs are also important. I doubt that anyone there last time found the reffing acceptable. They didn't know the rules, and didn't seem to care. Even failed to adequately help an injured player. Time and money spent on good refs is always worthwhile.

You can never have too many porta potties when there's no bushes around .

As somebody mentioned, I hope the got around to dealing with the bunkerless no-man's land in the middle of the field. Heck, put up sup-air or park some of them vehicles out there, but don't leave dead space.

All in all, it sounds like they're working to fix the problems that happened at the last game. Because I'm flying distance, I won't be making this one, but if the reports come back that they've made good on their promises to improve, I'll definitely consider their next game. I went to Warlords and had a blast at that game, so I know it *can* work. I just cant see spending $400 (Travel, Reg, Paint, Food, Misc) for a weekend I'm not sure I'll enjoy.

                      Muahahaha

                        PaintballerJack-
I'd try to get with either Pickle and his crew (Caltrop Guerrillas) or with Rhino and his team (Team Stealth Possum). The possums will be easy to spot, they'll be wearing skirts,...I mean kilts (just kidding Rhino), and the guerrillas will be commanding the german side. As for other AO'ers there's not a lot on one particular side that I know of.

                        And for everyone else playing:
I can vouch for a lot of the changes Gunny has done to make this an enjoyable game. He has worked his butt of making improvements to the fields for this game. As for reffing, my teams had meetings about reffing, getting to know the rules, clarifing them and we still have 2 more meetings with Gunny and Ben before the game starts. So at any rate I hope you guys find the reffing staff to be adequate and I hope that we do an outstanding job for you. I know that Refs can either make or break a games success, so to say the least I hope we make it. And if any player should have a questions or comments please bring it to my attention, cause if I don't have an answer I'll get you one.

I walked the field yesterday and the no mans land in the middle is no longer a desert. Gunny bought upwards of 200 half shelters and has made bunkers out of them. That area is PACKED with bunkers.

lbonettosd: Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to find the Caltrops if we play Germans, if not then I'll look for some skirts, er - kilts .

I checked out some of the new vehicles they have, I counted 10 (or 9?) different ones. Does anyone know if we will have to pay each time we want to shuttle around, or use a vehicle?

Also, i'm 100% at this point. Got me and at a MIN 2 others going, yeah buddy!

You don't have t pay to use them in a scenario. Only on walk on or private play.

Look us up if you are German.
