Old Scenarios?

At first, I thought Pyroman was another Pyroman I had dealings with in NJ (and I'm glad I was mistaken).
I don't think badmouthing another producer is the proper way to publicize one's own scenario events. We've had the opportunity to play with MXS at Ghost Mountain recently & the team was very impressed with the event - of course, we'd love to try other events (and there's one coming up early next year in VA we've already committed to). We've also played a load of Blackcat games & were also very impressed - both companies have their strong points and areas we felt could be improved, but all around we're going to be very loyal supporters for both.
These arguments seem to be getting a little out of hand - the scenario world is a big place, and its only going to get bigger. Using negative language to make your events seem better is not going to put you on our list of producers to try - a more concrete and rational discussion would benefit all here - not recriminations.
Also, I would recommend re-sizing your website. Scrolling is always a bad thing (especially if its horizontal scrolling).Comment

Now I know this is completely off topic, but I thought I'd share my observation.....
I'm not sure if the rest of you all have noticed this, but it seems that Pyroman315's way of publisizing his events is to get on AO, brag about how good his games are and then bash other users (or potential customers) for voicing there opinion. Now it seems as though he has adopted the additude that Bad publicity is the best publicity and moved up to flaming promoters / mods in his signature (yet typical) "elementary school" fashion.
I really think someone needs a lesson in diplomacy and tact, but again thats just my opinion.Comment

Hey Ray, let me check with that field owner for ya...Originally posted by PYROMAN315Herbies may also be on our list for next year.
*pause*
I'm getting a "no"...
Much like Kansas and Virginia!
Karma is not to be trifled with, Grasshopper.
Now, if you want to take this offline, I'll be agreeable to talk to you as one promoter to another. But if you continue to publicly blast me, my company, or the players who choose to play MXS games - without some form of professional decorum or actual knowledge to back up your arguments - don't expect a lot of support.
I'm done here.Comment

The TRUTH be known!
Ok, Ray (or should I call you Mr. Walper or do you perfer the anonymity of Pyroman315?)
Anyway,
Let's see here. Yepper, as of a few moments ago, its up on your web site. You have the Scenario News graphic listed as a sponsor. You also list many other sponsors including PMI.Originally posted by PYROMAN315Every sponsor listed on our website is an auhorized event sponsor. We have no reason to post false sponsors on our website.
I just read through Mr. Wright's posts. You know him right, as TB, the owner of Scenario News magazine! (Umm, Psssst, bro, he is not - nor ever has been - a sponsor of yours.) But I find that puzzling after reading your above quote???
*Pac Scratches his head....*
I know for a FACT that PMI is not a sponsor of yours. You may have someone who is distributing paint from PMI to you (good choice in paint by the way!) or giving you PMI product to give away, but PMI is not sponsoring your company. This I know for a fact. Again a bit more than puzzling?
*Pac Scratches his rear end....*
You might want to re-edit your above post about FALSE SPONSORS!!!
Online dictionaries will help you define the word "FALSE"
Best laugh I've had all day long.
Ray, how do you expect anyone to BELIEVE anything you post when you yourself post things that are, ummm, to use your own word - FALSE!
Have a nice day bro
BTW the only thing OLD in MXS is me! I'll be 46 in January and can be reached at: 281-565-9381 home number

Im with PAULLUS99, this has gotton way out of hand, and not at my hand either. Everyone needs to go back and read this entire post from the beginning. I simply made one refrence renmark and look where its gotton. This was never intended as a bash session and the original post has been lost.
To you PACMAN, or Pat (Wow, you found my real name), its amazing that Scenario News Magazine doesnt sponsor us but yet, my players seem to be receiving the magazines after winning subscriptions at our events.
As for Herbies, we`ll see. Kansas you say? Already been there twice this year. Virginia? Twice this year too. So I dont know where you think you going with this.
This was never meant to bash anybody. If anything, Im the one always getting hammered here. (And for little to no reason either). See, I like working WITH other promoters, not against them. I know your an old Dinosour and all, PACMAN, but try to remember back a few months when I did actually contact you via e mail and by phone asking for a little help in a few areas. Remember? Didnt think so because you blew me off then too.
When we first got into hosting events over 4 years ago, we tried to contact every promoter out there. This was so we could introduce ourselves to them and also so we wouldnt step on any toes with other promoters regular fields and cross schedule events in the same area in a short time span. Trying to be respectful, but of course never received the same in return. We have a few good allies out there that do have consideration for other promoters. (Aparently not with MXS)
All I have to say is "Watch out" PACMAN, were right on your heals. You just got lucky and got in the buis at the right time, pre 9/11 and all. But, we have moved so fast and have covered so much ground in the past 4 years that we know where we will be standing within a few short years to come. Your trying to remember the players with giving out decent prizes (I give you that), but you forgetting how to take care of the field owners.
I play alot of MXS events and always try to attend with a positive attitude. It may just be me along with my regular players that dont see what other players see at your events. Its very difficult to play in any other promoters event after you host your own. Way to easy to see all the simple mistakes that could have been easily corrected to make things run smoother. The best part is, ive talked to you PACMAN and everyone that works for you. We play it low and go on with our business like any other player on the field. Im sure if PACMAN played in one of our events, or any other event for that matter, he would enjoy it (As we have at his) but he would also be able to see many things that he does not agree with.
Ill be around PACMAN, were not planning on going anywhere anytime soon. Ill be seeing you on the field, oh, thats right, you dont go on the field, sorry.
As for shooting myself in the foot here at the AO forum with players, sucks to be me doesnt it? We have tried so hard (In very positive ways may I add) to get AO players out to our events. Tons of discounts, player incentives, SPP membership programs, and yet, not one player from this forum has made any of our events in 4 years. No longer my problem but the invite is still always open.
Oh, as for our 9/11 event, it did happen and it was awesome. Some of th ebest players we had all year. Sorry to dissapoint you ther Mr. Wright.Comment

THANK YOU JUDSTER!! Looking forward to never seeing you at our events. Nobody can have a straight opinion if they hav`nt been to our games. How can you have an opinion or comment about something you have never been too? I only give my opinions on games or promoters events I have played in. Ive answered all the questions that I thought were important enough to rectify, SOO sowwy bout meye sPerrIng. We dont all have the time or patience to be as perfect as you.
If you played in my events, you would know that players have the choice to leave the field during play any time they would like. We announce when lunch and dinner will be served, but the game goes on, with or without the players.(Better now??)
In my opinion, once again, I have only been completly bashed by every person that has ever replied to any of my threads or comments on this forum. That, in my words, is the only reason I return here with my comments. You people make me giggle with your idiosity (I know, big word for me huh?).
Trust me, 35 major events are held each year, two warehouses full of props, and I make a great living without you turds coming to my events.
Oh, and have a great day!!Comment

I love scenario games. Maybe because I'm a role-payer at heart, I enjoy costuming and characters and generally making a spectacle of myself. If I'm not having a good time, it's nobodies fault but my own.
I attend any scenario I can. Up here in CT that hasn't been easy. There was supposed to be a Dollack game in MA last year, but was cancelled. I would go to Survival New York for their annual 28 hr scenario every August for the past eight years, and drive the 400 miles to EMR for Quest. When MXS held an event there I was sure to go because they were the largest game promoter/producer to come even that close to New England.
I'd love to play Splatterzone, but it's just too far to travel. I would love to play a Viper, Dollack or Black Cat game but they just haven't come close enough for me to consider. (although we may see BC up here next year, if rumors are true)
Fortunately, we have a couple of fields that are quickly becoming well known for their one-day scenario games (Fox4 in MA, and Strategy Plus in CT) So I don't have to stress over the fact that it costs more to get there than to play.
But if I'm ever in the mid-west, I'll make it my business to get to one of Pyromans games.
And a thanks to TB for the link to the Marshals props page concerning the Stargate although some of the others are more impressive...
( Hmmm, no pics of the finished beast! Ladymarshal needs to fix that...)
Maybe Pyro could contract for some large props...that way I'd get out there, although it sounds like he has all the stuff he needs already.CT Co-ordinator, Paintball MarshalsComment

Rules?
Pyro,
After visiting your web page a few times, I have a request for you. I am not flaming you with it.
Can you post a link to your rules?
I can't find them.
Thank youTry as I might, I can't understand why people keep going out of their way to walk into a paintball that I have just shot into the air.Comment

PYRATE JIM,
Thanks for the POSITIVE feedback, I do appreciate good players!! Sounds like the fields in your area arent big enough to hold large scaled events or dont get enough players. Try talking the field owners into a small mini scenario/big game format for regular open play customers. Something simple with 5 to 10 missions that arent to involved. This is a great way to have a continuous game at your field, easy to set up, no down time between games, gives players a little taste of Scenario play, and only takes about two hours. I have been running these at a one of our local fields between our larger Scenario Events for a friend and the players love it. These games can involve small scaled props, some promotional field prizes such as t shirts, and we run ours with 7 different colored flags on the field for many different objectives.
EVIL PREACHER,
And I appreciate your request as well. We dont post our game rules on our website but we are formatted very close to the GSRP rules and regs. As a player, Im a Dollack follower and we initially started with all of the Dollack game rules. We hav`nt had the chance to play a Dollack game in a couple of years so im not sure what his rules are right now for his games. Were formatted like most Scenario Producers, with a few twists of our own. Our tank rules are the same as in all Dollack games that are played in the Central/Midwest states. (His tank rules change as he goes further South).
The biggest changes we have is mostly done to enhance our games. All of our safety rules are based on standard paintball safety and apply to all of our events. We always encourage the use of outside props, boobie traps, tanks, and paintball related weapons as long as they are approved by us first.
I hope this helps with your question, but as for a physical link, we do not have one at this time. All of our rules are posted at each event.
ThanksComment

Okay, not like anybody cares, but here's my 2 cents. How about it just ends here? Stop the flaming, the machismo, the testerone (and a l'il estrogen
) and just finish this post off with "You know I don't appreciate the things you've said, some I feel are misrepresentin' yourself or others, but everyone's entitled to their opinion and so ......you stick to what you do...we'll stick to what we do....and in the end the players will decide." I've only played a few different producers I WILL NOT get on here and post "this one sucks, this one should do this, yada yada yada" Especially since I had a ton of fun at all of them, even the ones that might have not run so smoothly. Of course I'm easy (don't go spreading that around
) But really I do have my loyalties, if I come to your event and like it I will come back, if I don't like it, or if you criticize teams I love when they have chosen not to play in your events (this has happened before) then most likely you will not see me again. And since I try to get articles done for the games I go to for PB2X, Scenario News, and possibly in the future APG and the occasional paintball website, you will probably hear about it there and you possibly won't like what I have to say. But thank goodness for the old freedom of speech. Of course there always is this thing called "liable" . But you won't get that from me
So take a deep breath, all of you, ask yourself if anyone is REALLY worth your getting your undies in such a bunch
and go take a yoga class, and remember ChristHannuKwanzakuh is right around the corner
