AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Risken is absolutely right about this being a great opportunity! I'm the commanding officer of the above-mentioned Charlie Company, and we're still looking to fill our ranks with dedicated, aggressive players. We wear the badge of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne. We drop into battle with Dog Company, one of THE most respected and feared fighting units on the field, and we are going to write our names into D-Day history! Charlie Company is about aggressiveness. Charlie Company is about making the big plays. Charlie Company is about winning! Remember that there is no substitute for victory. You can contact me HERE for more info.
Special Ops has two things going on that will affect OKlahoma D-day. Special Ops will be putting the D-day video in the March issue of APG Magazine. It's a great video. This is a clip of part of it.
I would assume that this will increase the rate that people register, so if you've been procrastinating it may be time to register. I want to make sure that everyone who wants to be in the 82nd (or any specific unit) has the chance to do so.
And this year Spec Ops will be playing on the Allied side. Their two tanks will be landing at Utah Beach with the 4th ID and the 3rd Armor. They have two of the best tanks. The Panzerwagon can be seen in the video link. Obviously it will have to be renamed for 2007
You might be interested in some of the courses that will be available to the Allied units, like the 82nd Airborne. These are first class training courses. And there's others offered like the Sniper Course, Obstacle Course, etc
The D-day field is putting together a real static-line parachute jump that is scheduled to take place in the days leading up to the game. They are trying to dteremine interest at this point. Here is a link to a discussion about it on the forum. This is all part of the 10th Anniversary event.
Also, their are some important deadlines approaching.
APRIL 1st: Unit Choice Ends
MAY 15th: Pre-registration Ends. Price is then $100.00
Some units are already full, many are very close. This is kind of a last call for the 82nd and many other units. If intense, non-stop action is what you have in mind, the 82nd is the way to go!
In 2005 I was the leader of the Engineer Corp that ran with the 1st. We had to get rid of the "barbed wire"
That was fun and tough at the same time, especially with the downfall of rain while we still had to climb the beach.
It was fun.
Omaha Beach is a great area too. Those 238th Engineers were amazing! What ever unit you decide to sign up for, the time is running out. April 1 is the deadline. After that you can only pick your side.
I am with the 6th this year. Its what the team went with...Wolfguard...you might remember us from having tails on our masks and also a coyote head in front of our camp.
Also, the DVD's are not included this month...May...

My son and I signed up for the 36th Mech, part of 3rd Armor. He was not old enough for the other special units, Airborne, Rangers, etc, but we should get a chance for some mobility with this unit.

The 36th Mechanized is great. You and your son will have a lot of fun.
