I didn't say to avoid mass merchant paint altogether, I know a manager at my local Walmart that understands that you need to turn your paint periodically. I have shot Walmart purchased paint and have had mixed results. I have however had better luck with paint purchased at my local paintball shop. If your in the area, that is Mad Dawg paintball in Stanwood, WA.
Lets talk about paint . . .

Bronze is blaze, silver is inferno, and gold is hellfire.Originally posted by gabriel9090I live near a "Pev's Paintball" shop that has Draxxuss "Midnight, Blaze, and Inferno" as well as X-Ball "Bronze, Silver and Gold."
So essentially they have 3 different kinds paint.
The blaze would probably do well in a mag, and maybe the inferno, but hellfire/gold is extremely brittle.Last edited by d4m4don3; 07-16-2007, 01:25 PM.Comment

I've had horrid results with Midnight and won't touch the stuff - gun breaks left and right, NO breaks on target, difficult to see, very inaccurate.
X-Ball is all great. I've sprung for Silver but it wasn't much if any better than Bronze.
Hellfire, which is about to disappear and be re-labeled "X-Ball Gold" is fantastic. Every ball is identical, perfectly formed, shoots dead-on straight and always breaks on target. If you have a gun that's rough on paint, you might get gun breaks with Hellfire/X-Ball Gold.
FYI: Procaps makes all this stuff. Draxxus and X-Ball are just registered trade-styles (aka "brands") marketed by Procaps.

Draxxus midnight has been really good to me in all my mags. It also usually runs small in bore size. I personally use the new Diablo Nightmare as the fill is some crazy nuclear colors and thick. I have never broke a ball and these have been consistently accurate with my freak kit.
