    LX bolt not fitting?

i just recieved my classic valve today, and i noticed something peculiar. the LX bolt has a small lip on the tip of it, preventing it from sliding through the steel washer in the ULE body, and preventing the spring from going on as well. whats up with that? the lip extends to the tip, that entire section is a touch wider than the rest.

the L7 bolt doesnt have the lip, and slids fine. my other valve i used to have didnt have this lip, it had a LX also.. i took a pic for comparison.

L7 on the left, LX on the right.

Got pics of the whole bolt front and back? I've never seen a lip on a lvl 10.

^^if you look at some of mann's LX bolts, some of them have the lip as well.

I guess they do have a little hump at the tip. It almost looks like it's two pieces from the picture. The groove seems deep. Maybe a new design or someone went to lunch and forgot something. Either way, if it won't fit through the body washer it must be out of spec. That sounds like a call to the factory to me. Personally, I don't think I could bring myself to sand a new bolt.

sand it down. Just take a little off at a time.

            ****Warning******

I have never done what I just advised. But it sounds like it would work.

hm..ok...any other opinions before i permanently modify the bolt?

NVM...i just sanded it down, and it works beautifully. it was only about a 0.25mm out of spec, so it didnt require much sanding

even though you had to modify the stock piece, if you did it just right you will hopefuly end up with a tighter seal than you would have if you didnt get a messed up bolt

I had to sand down my level 10 when i put it in my micromag .... rather sand the bolt than try to sand the inside of the breach.

You really should contact AGD and let them know...

all LX bolts should be fitting into their ULE bodies!

I have L10 bolts with the same lip and don't have any problem in all 5 of my ULE bodies. Are you sure it doesn't fit? Try to slide it through without the spring.

it didnt fit...i tried it with the spring off because it took far too much effort to slide the spring onto the bolt.

anyway, i just sanded it a tad, and now it fits fine.
