Great previous post, lots of info.

Borrow a tank from a friend/pro shop. I've heard that the PMI regs have horrible flow. The symptoms you describe (works fine when fired slowly, chuffs at speeds > 1bps) sound like a flow problem. The tank might be your culprit.

Even if it works fine with the shorter spring? I'll give it a try. My buddy has a crossfire.

Ok, this is kinda weird. I took all the shims out and the bolt still resets fine after hitting an obstruction. Is that normal? Should I leave them all out?

          0-3 shims works.

Here's two videos of me dry firing it. You can see/hear it choking up every other shot when I shoot fast. Hope this helps in diagnosing the problem.

This is with the middle/red spring and no shims (it does the same thing with the shims as well) with the velocity as high as the gun will go.

Try putting oil directly down the power tube and then try dry firing the marker , btw i dont use any shims at all in my level 10 you only need them it the bolt doesnt reset properly. btw check this out too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0mvr30jKhw also check out this thread he had a similar problem http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=223251

Me and a buddy put a MASSIVE amount of oil all through all parts the valve/gun tonight and it seemed possibly to have fixed the problem, but we ran out or air before we could thoroughly test it.

I'll post back tomorrow after I get more air.

Shot it today with just air. Was much better than before, but still chuffs out every now and then.

Only thing that worries me is that if or not I can get it chrono below 280 fps.

Now that you have used lube, find the largest carrier that doesn't leak (use the same "settled-in" carrier o-ring). Once you use the correct carrier, you should be able to use different springs to get to your desired velocity.

A larger carrier will have less friction, which means that you need less pressure (via velocity adjuster) to advance the bolt past the venting point, which means that the shortest spring can be used for lower velocities.
