Autotrigger mod for a autococker pump

    Hey guys,

I tried searching without any luck. I'm semi so if you do the search and find it please give me the link.

I remember a while back seeing a thread that gave details about converting a standard autococker trigger frame and pump kit into an autotrigger frame and pump.

The thread could have been on pbn but their search bar is fubar unless you support Smart Parts

It had something to do with drilling out the safetly hole on a regular trigger frame and inserting a cam. Then tapping a hole in the pump rod.

Any info or links would be great. I have an extra trigger frame and I am thinking of getting crazy.

Not sure. I was looking for more info before I started the project.

What do you have up your sleeve?

if i can find a rod that fits in correctly into a WGP frame i could make a cam for it pretty easy.......if not i would have to turn a larger rod to fit....boooo im not about to do that

Not sure exactly how much detail your looking for but in simplest terms , it no more than a safty that it turned on and off by the pump rod.

When your in the full forward pump position , the safety is off and everywhere else it is on. The safety is just a cam (located in the stock safety location) that rotates and allows the trigger to be moved or not depending on said pump position.

fireblade-I am lloking for as much detail as possi ble.

I understand the theory behind it.

I'm really looking for the modding steps. Hardware needed, tools, etc.

I realize there is more then one way to skin a cat.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

Well , off the top of my head . . .

                      Stock WGP hinge/swing Mmmm ,

Well the safety in those blocks the sears upward travel so . . you need to pull the safety and find or turn a section of rod (will be the cam) to fit the hole. Cut or grind as precisely as possible a flat spot on one side of the rod that allows just enuff clearance for the sear to pass when pulling the trigger and leave it round on the other side so you can't pull the trigger when the cam is turned that way. It must turn pretty freely too.

As I'm sure you've seen in pics from there you need a linkage that runs from the end of the cam up to a screw threaded on the pump rod that will turn the cam from the non safety position to the saftey position as you pump and that's pretty much it besides alot of fine tuning.

You need to drill and tap the end of the cam and a spot on the pump rod and biuld/make/cut/whatever a length of material to to act as the linkage between the 2, firmly attached to the cam and slotted at the other end to allow for free movement of the pump rod.

Tuning is finding the precise moment pressure on he trigger will fire the marker as the pump reaches it forward most postion. It's a pretty fine , precise setup for good performance and function.

                      That's about it . . . I think. :)

honestly..............i forgot about it.......I've made/making ATs and its pretty simple....but all i need is to come by some rod that fits in nicely or doesn't take too much to turn down to fit

as long as the frame has a safety hole.....you can put in an AT

I was just curious if smoothice was getting anywhere tho.
