Well I finally had a chance to take a trip to home depot.

-I found that a 7mm hex bolt fits perfectly in my safety hole

This bolt is 2 inches long with 3/4 of an inch being threads

      This 7mm-1.0 x 50mm bolt cost $00.58

-I also found that a 5/16 Carriage bolt with the threads cut off fits perfectly as well.

This bolt is 6 inches long with 1 inch being threaded. You need to cut off the threads before you can fit it in the safety hole.

      This 5/16 x 6 inch carriage bolt cost $00.57

The difference is only $00.01 but I can make 7 cams with the carriage bolt and only 1 with the hex bolt.

So there is definetly progress being made.

I want to get another ccm cocking rod to tap for this project though. I would hate to screw up my only one and be left pump-less.

Here is a terrrible pic of the carriage bolt

I'm kinda working on this Autotrigger mod with Smoothice.... we're using those hinge/swing frames and we've hit a snag in the process of using a cam in the Safety.

The problem is that the sear for the swing type frame needs to be free moving in order for the hammer to slide over the sear and lock into place. So the sear needs to move down for the hammer to pass then lock.... the problem is that the cam prevents the sear from moving. So I can not pump. Here's a pic for reference:

Only solution I see now is to drill a hole close to the top front of the trigger and put the cam there. then the sear would be allowed to move but the trigger will be forced forward as the cam turns. It'll look somethign like this:

        Anyone have other ideas?

if possible the cam should hold the trigger open.....not touch the sear.....hummmm does the WGP pivot safety touch the sear? oh ohs

Yes, the cam needs to hold the trigger open during the pump stroke and still keep the sear free. This is why I'm thinking the only option at this time is to drill a second hole in front of the trigger (as seen in my second little drawing).

The safety does not touch the sear.... so this allows you to pump even if the safety is ON.

Whats a cam adjuster? Or what does it do? I've never heard of a cam adjuster

please read my post over again.....

The safety DOES NOT touch the sear.

                      Edit:
My bad.... the safety does hit the sear. that's why you cant pull the trigger when the safety is ON. So now i'm fully confused!

Sorry guys.... really have a lot going on, so my brain is all over the place.

I'll see if I can give it another try and see if my first prototype cam is just not cutting it.

                            Here's a pic of Shingo's AutoTrigger Cam ver. 1.0

It was a rough job, but it's not too shabby for a 1.5 hour trial run. Perhaps ver. 1.1a will turn out better. I plan on using a 7mm hex bolt that Smooth found in homedepot.

I WAS RIGHT!!!! My hinge frame does not pump if the safety is ON. So for those of you who say they have installed a cam in the safety for the autotrigger mod, how did you do it???

by using a different frame, where the safety blocks only the trigger not the sear
