Got my Mag, nice but shootdown?

I got my mag.. Im the guy who didn't know anything about them 1 day and bought one the next, which I never do..

Shoots nice, but I noticed some shootdown. Why is this? I didn't think old guns had that problem...

Also I short stroke it a bit, is it like a cocker and there is something you can do to help ie shorten the trigger pull, if not its cool, I'll get used to it,

    Shooting around 295
    Using co2 right NOW...
Im sure it has enough room to expand..

    So what causes this?

Also mags aren't loud like I though, its more of a strange mechanical noise..

You can short stroke a mag, its much different than how to short stroke a cocker and harder todo than in a cocker.

can you approximate your BPS when the valve freezes up? Does it work fine if you fire it slowly?

Yea the classics have quite a ping to them, xvlaves have less mechanical sound and more air noise or noticeable air noise

eh, it me its much easier to short stroke a mag, lol

Im not even shooting fast, using a revy maby 6-8 bps.. And never near freezing, no coldness at all. And it works fine when I shoot it slowly..

sorry i meant shoot down,, I think its just cause you are running CO2, try to borrow a hpa tank and see if it still does it.

I really don't think it is, I got a hpa tank with the deal, just gotta send it in to get rehydrod, will prolly sell it for a 70/ci

When you get shootdown, feel your valve. Is it cold?

With HPA it shouldn't be a problem. If there is, make sure there's nothing obstructing your airlines and what not. Maybe even clean and grease the regulator piston.

You're not regulating the co2 (or air) are you?

oh and the valve isn't cold...

I mean I only shot a string of 10 paintballs and even using a gravity feed, which surprisingly works well with this gun.. Don't know why, at like 6-8bps..

The nut at the back, 1/8 allen key. Supposedly one full turn is 100psi, so don't turn it too much. Clockwise=higher pressure/FPS.

                        6-8BPS isn't that slow.

Try turning your spring pack around. How sever is your shootdown? I got some crazy shootdown once only to find out I put the springpack in the wrong way.

ok, i could be totoally wrong i MEAN it my have been 4bps..

BUT I think I found my problem...

could it be a form of short stroking?
I read that on the manual.... I think thats what it could be...

Clean the Regulator Piston and Spring Pack,Oil and Use HPA.Should get NO SHOOTDOWN,CO2(no matter the expansion area)will have shootdown on a mag(unless its 90* outside ),Borrow an airtank from a buddy just to see,
