semi pump mag - problem solved?

So I have a couple pump mags, a gen 1 which has the round pump rod. It flawless, buttery pump stroke, no leaks, no issues. Point being I sorta know how to setup a pump mag.

Now in comes pump mag number 2. I had a ULE body, benchmark frame, taso factory milled rail, and a gen 2 pump kit(oval pump rod). For starters the pump stroke sucks compared to the gen 1, just not as much rotation. Anyways, no matter what i seemed to do, even clipping a spring, it shot semi. Changed bodies from home job pump mills to factory pump mills, still semi. Tryed 3 different valve, In the process i found a level 6 or 6.5 valve complete with the power tube spring(sweet). So after switching all the obivous parts out a million times I decided to switch out the next pieces, grip frame and rail. Replaced the factory taso rail, with a factory milled agd rail, put everything back together....NO MORE SEMI?!?!

This made me happy and sad at the same time. The taso rail has some nifty milling, and is sorta rare, but it doesnt work.

Has anyone else come to this conclusion? Any issues with a taso rail?

Wow that's weird. I would think the wave spring was the problem. I can't figure how the heck a RAIL would do that. . .

i cant either... thats why i posted this little mystery.

i have 3 different wave springs. about 5 bodies, 2 of which are home milled, and about 4 rails.

They all work in any combination in my other pump mag except for that rail.

I run a taso rail on one of my pumpmags with no problems. Literally bolted up the parts and it worked.

Only thing I can think of is if the rail causes your vavle to sit in a slithly differnt location than stock. Probably wouldnt need to be off my much.

        Have you tryed different bumpers?

Try a different bumper. You can also stick a thin spacer behind the bumper and wave spring, which seemed to fix any of the issues I ever had.

Also make sure you oil it regularly.

          How's my old one doing?

ya tried all kinds of differnt bumpers. a oring that was sent with rain man kit 1, the black cut bumper from rainman kit 2, a couple different home cut blues.

and couger thats what i am thinking, there is a bit of play with that rail.

mtaylor.. i switched out the rail and trigger frame on the one you sent me. i also took a bit of metal off the pump arm so the stroke is smoother. cleaned up the mill job a bit too. i am gonna try somethign behind the washer.

works great till i use my taso rail.

try a different grip frame with the taso rail it might be a combination of the benchy and the rail.

I had this issue a while back. I got a wave spring one full coil longer than the one from Smalley (this came from Spirolox), and then trimmed it until the gun functioned properly with no semi-auto issues.
