I've got 2 RTs and they don't fire on air-up, my friends E-mag fires sometimes and not others...

It is obvious what is happening, the air is entering the dump chamber before the on/off pin can reset the sear completely. Perhaps the bolt is held too far forward and the sear can't catch it.

    Swollen bolt bumper?

Actually, come to think of it my friends E-mag stopped firing on air up when we changed his bumper...

The sear should be holding the on/off closed if it does not have the bolt caught.

It's more like a fun bar trick, but at the chrono.

"My mag's trigger is sooo... light that it fires even when I gas it up!"

        errr... It's late.

ok, just a follow up on this post...

tomorrow I am going out to play for the first time this year. Last time I was out was second weekend of december 08, so a little over 2 months. Yesterday I went and got some tanks filled so I could test my mags out and make sure I had no leaks. gassed my ULT mag up and it fired a shot. when in the back yard and fired about 500 rounds of cheapo cheap paint and afterwords it was broken all down the barrel, on the bolt, inside the body, up the feedneck... etc... so I take the mag in and strip it apart. Clean everything. oil everything: ASA, ULT orings, lvl 10 orings and bolt. So my mag was completely clean and oiled. I gas it up again, didn't fire on gas up.. unscrewed the tank and back on, didnt fire... I could not get the mag to fire on gas up. and this was the first time since I got a ULT that I had the mag completely apart and fine detail cleaned every piece.

So my theory is, keep your mag cleaned and oiled and this problem wont happen

#1 make sure that the trigger rod is the proper length
#2 if #1 is ok try taking a shim out of the ULT and see if it still does it.
