    Sputter sputter

It seems I can't get my Automag Classic to stop coughing. Basically I'll be firing away and if I depress the trigger a little too lightly it will fail and sputter, then I have to press it really hard a few times to get it actually shooting again.

I felt that it might be something with the clevis/rod so I tried many different lengths/widths on the trigger... it's a little better now but after a lot of tinkering it will still start to sputter if I pull the trigger lightly or slowly depress it.

Any ideas? I started fiddling with the clevis/rod thinking that the problem may have stemmed from when I fixed this one:

If your using a stock AGD trigger frame the trigger rod length is 1.985 With a aftermarket frame such as a DYE, 32 degrees it's @ 1.958 You can get a cheap caliper at your local Home improvment center for 10-15.00 Here is a useful link....

Get your trigger back to having a 1/16" gap (about the thickness of a credit card) from the back of the trigger to the tip of the trigger rod when the marker is aired up and the safety is on.

For the bolt stick, use a longer spacer.

If it still sputters after you do those two, post back.

Thanks for the info guys. After gassing it up I noticed that I have yet another leak in different part of the gun. I think I know what to do there so I'm going to focus on that first. I'll let you know how it works out and yeah I think the caliper idea is a good one.
