it went from blue to purple. Blue and purple are close on the spectrum for wave length so i figured that they would be putting out/requiring the same amount of draw

Just for kicks i took the power wire and ground wire (black and white) and desoldered them and reversed them. It actually worked

The people at the "factory" or whereever it was put together must have done it incorrectly because it was a simple fix that shouldnt have had to been done.

    thanks all!

the diodes are correct because the polarities that i installed them in are equivalent to the ones i took out. the +/- are in the same spot

the purpose of the board is to light up when turned on so that the xbox glows with my smoke shell i put on it.

I am guessing that the white is the power now that i remember black is usually ground but i did not make the board. it worked previously. i think it has to do with the soldering points... the 3 under each led.
I'm gonna go with all of the LEDs were place in backwards as previously mentioned. If it worked previously and stopped working when you changed the LEDs, it would make sense if it works once again when you flipped the power wires around. Usually the flat on the LED denotes the cathode. But sometimes....this is not the case. Either way, glad it's working!

yea, that would make sense. but i never tested it when i recieved it to see if it actually worked with the stock blue LED's.

I placed them in the same way though so it would have to be the wires. The diodes have what appears to be two halves inside the "bulb" the wider part and a skinnier part. I made sure that the diodes were placed in the same way that they came out so unless the LED's were opposite polarity from the original ones they should have worked (assuming the wires were in correctly)

To me it would make more sense that the wires were put on incorrectly than diodes having two possible polarities denoted simply by length of the two wires before cut.

but on a side note. The reason this is posted in the tech forum for automags is because the stock white case is going to be converted into a padded case for my micromag now that i put on a smoke case to see the internals and lights.
