Is this the thread for me?

I have an RT Classic that is leaking down the barrel when I gas it up. The sear does not engage.

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

    Should I just follow this?
If not, what should I do?

    Thanks,
    Jason

Hold the trigger when you gas it up. Does it still leak? If it does not leak, then your problem is in the powertube portion of the valve. It it still leaks with the trigger held, then the problem is probably a leaky on-off oring.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I didn't read the other thread you posted but a few thoughts that come to mind.

is the bolt sticking forward into the breech? if so take a pencil and push the bolt back and see if the sear engages and holds the bolt back and stops the leak.

If that is the problem you might just need a new bolt spring.

Ok, the problem is in the powertube. Replace the powertube oring and check the bolt spring. The bolt spring should extend past the front of the bolt when placed on the bolt. It is a consumable item and needs to be replaced occasionally. You should replace it regularly. If you still get a leak after replacing the powertube oring, install a shorter powertube spacer.

Yes, lubrication is good. They only need to be wet, not dripping in oil.
