Bah, I mean vert regs, or screw in ones. The tank reg regulates the 3000psi down to the disired pressure, and the automag has another reg that regs the output down to the operating pressure, so another reg is not needed. We are talking about co2 by the way. I wasnt talking about HPA. HPA is bad to triple reg it. double/triple reging starves the gun
anyway to run co2?

I know that we weren't talking about HP, I was just using it as an example to strength my argument
However, as long as the two regs (the stabilizer and the A.I.R. reg in the mag) are kept at different pressures (about 250 psi or more) there shouldn't be any problems in starving the reg (especially if you get a palmer reg, they're awesome)
If this isn't right then I'm gonna pretty mad that everyone lied to me, cause I just ordered a stabilizer to eliminate liquid in my gun... hehe

You wont need a Stabilizer If you get an Anti-Siphon tube on your tank, and a good sized exp chamber. If you are going to run a remote, then dont get the Anti-Siphon, becuase it will, instead of only letting gas in the gun, only let liquid in the gun.Originally posted by Monkertrol

Your better off buying nitro. You can get tanks for pretty cheap, and by the time you have got your setup compleate, for the time and money you have spent on it, you could have gotten a nice, cheap nitrogen tank.Comment

BTW, before I got my flatline I was running CO2 on a remote with a stabilizer (NO expansion chamber). It worked quite well. Note that I'm in "sunny" California.

I have the same problem(HPA availability) and run co2 on my mags with no trouble. I have a Palmer on my minimag and an expansion chamber on my automag, the Palmer is the way to go if you are going to be stuck with co2 for the long haul. Do not set it up the way Palmer recommends, you will get terrible shoot-down, get a pressure gage for the side and set the output of the Palmer at 700-800 psi and you are good to go, no shoot-down. BTW, I run anti-siphon or remote always and that helps alot, and I live in Colorado and play successfully in cold weather. Hope this helps.

Just an important note...
If you're running a secondary regulator and an expansion chamber, DON'T put the X-chamber downstream of the regulator (i.e., CO2 goes into the reg, then the XC, then to the gun).
If you do, the CO2 in the expansion chamber can heat up while you're not shooting the gun, causing the pressure in the chamber to rise. Since gas can't flow backwards through a regulator, the pressure can't dissipate, and your next few shots will be hot.
I've seen this cause a 100 fps spike on a hot day. It shouldn't be quite that bad on a 'Mag, which has another regulator built in, but it can still cause hot shots and is therefore unsafe.

P.S.: Personally, I don't think an X-chamber is necessary. I've had great success with just a Palmer Stabilizer and an anti-siphon tube (the A-S tube is the only really necessary item if you plan to run CO2 on-gun).Everybody else seems to have a picture of their 'Mag in their sig, so what the heck; here's mine:

Kemikos is right for the non-mag situation -- don't run an x-chamber downstream from the regulator!
But with a mag I have heard, for instance on Ravi's Regulator Info Sheet Page that running an x-chamber between downstream of the secondary reg (but before the in-gun reg) actually gives a performance benefit. The idea being that the x-chamber provides a gas reservoir between the regs to counter shootdown problems, and also as an additional preventative to keep co2 from freezing the mag. The article quotes Jason Beck who wrote in to say that it had increased his mag's efficiency, although it doesn't say if this was compared to running without a reg or x-chamber or only a reg (but no x-chamber).
I don't have any experience with it myself, but it might be something to try if you've got both a reg and an x-chamber to play around with.
NOTE: Again, this would be only is for mags (or similar markers like the desert fox) -- don't try this on a marker without an internal regulator (low-pressure regs for pneumatics don't count).Comment
