All right, got that taken care of and now it cycles just fine. That diagram was very helpful, so thank you much.

One last perturbing thing though. When it's cocked, I go to pull the trigger and there's a slight hiss as I start to depress it. It shoots once the trigger is depressed far enough to release the sear, but what's with the slight leak with a halfway pulled trigger? Any ideas?

This is AGD spec pump rod. For Rainman style you only need to concentrate on the left side of that picture.

I apologize for another necto post, but I'm in the process of installing a pump kit and I have a big question that seems most relevant to this thread.

I got my hands on a Rainman V2 kit and had luke mill out the body and rail. All seems ship shape in terms of fit.

However, I'm wondering if it's necessary to make a slight bend in the pump rod itself prior to install, or whether it should work without a bend. I don't want to end up with a bend that interferes with the forward travel of the bolt, and I also know I'll drive myself crazy if I screw up the pump rod and have to get another.

I'm also sure I'll need to chop down a bolt spring, even though the one I have is super old. Had it hooked up with the wave spring in place and it went semi, though the second and third shots were definitely not full power. Is this because the on-off is sort of just barely on and stuck between actually being on and off, or is indicative of some other problem I don't have the experience to identify just yet?

I'd like to know what type of 12g changer he has on that mini vvvv

That is pretty sexy. Seems looks like some sort of pump handle. Really, this would be a pretty easy mod for someone with machining skills. I wonder how it locks into place? I'll bet you could use a pin and channel type of locking mechanism. Basically, you push the pump up, when you twist the handle, there would be a channel that catches a pin on the changer. If it had a graduated channel, it would push the cartridge into place until it pierced. To change, you would just untwist and let it drop down. Hmmm.

    Thanks for the links.

Leave your bolt spring in. You MAY need to adjust it. But you won't know until you have it assembled. Basically if the bolt resets when the wave spring is in then you either need to get an older/weaker spring OR cut the spring so it is a little shorter.

The valve mod reduces the volume of the air chamber. Loguzzzzzz did 2 of my valves. Well worth the money. I made a thread about my results and it was great. Basically almost doubled my shots. I'll post a link later.
Ok, I think I get the wave spring now. I have never held one, so I couldn't see how it worked. I kept thinking for some reason it fit in the larger slot milled in the body. Thanks.

For the valve mod, would this work equally well if I wasn't running 12g's, but a 9 oz instead? Probably a noobish question. Would the Phase II help, hinder, or not affect it? I have another classic valve with a standard back, but wanted to use this valve as it doesn't have a level X bolt, and no one seems to want it because it isn't a matched valve.

Also, I have a 12g changer I got a couple of years ago for a homemade LAW. It is the type that the cap screws off and the cartridge drops out when you take the cap off. But you do have to take the cap all the way off. Are there any type of changers that can be mounted to either a vert ASA or other that are lever actuated allowing for faster cartridge changes? I'm not really looking to run stock class. I know Frizzle or someone else on here had a Micro CA, but I didn't have the cash together at the time, so looking for something else.

started a topic [Solved] New to Pump Mags

    New to Pump Mags

I am in line for one of the new pump kits that XM15 is making. Figured why not since I essentially had most of the parts laying around minus the actual pump part and a rail, which it looks like I will be getting shortly as well.

Question though, I have seen some listings regarding pump mags and one thing has always confused me.. Where exactly does the wave spring go? I've looked at pics and for the life of me can't seem to figure it out. Also, what other mods will I have to make besides a pump milled body(gots) and rail(almost gots)? Do I actually remove the bolt spring to keep it from resetting? Or is this where the wave spring comes into play. Also, I remember someone on here recently talking about a valve mod to increase shots per 12g. Not sure if I am going to go 12g or not right away, but figured modding the valve would still give me more shots per tank. I have a valve that I planned on using for this already. It has an ANS Phase II reg. Would this defeat the purpose of the above mod?

Would be nice if there was a pump specific thread.

    Thanks.
