    Insert trouble

So here is the problem, and it is similar on both my classic and my x valve. Both valves were working fine to begin with. Gas them up...

The Classic. Didn't use paint but shot it for a bit and seemed to work ok. Used a 12gram on it the other day and only got 10 usable chronographed shots. Regardless, today I pulled the trigger about 2 dozen times and then it stopped firing. There was resistance in the trigger, but the marker did not make any attempt to fire.

The X-valve. Same thing as the classic, but not shots to begin with. There is resistance on the trigger, like it wants to work, but nothing is happening, no matter what I do with the velocity adjuster.

Does this have to do with the spring length, like you were saying hill? I have a un clipped gold spring, so it shouldn't be the problem. Should I change out the carriers, if so do I get larger or smaller? Any help is welcome.

Sounds like bolt stick. I never had a problem with not firing, just low velocity or a leake out the back. Usually it solves bolt stick due to the extra pressure.

The 12 gram needs to attach directly to the valve. Again this mod was adapted from 12 gram users that got 60% improvement. They are getting in the mid 20s on a 12 gram with volume reduction.

I will do a "how to" video later today as it is raining and it looks like no work.

Are you using 12 grams to test these markers?

Only once. HPA is what I was getting the problems with. So bolt stick...increase carrier size?

On a side note, any one heard from Tuna lately? I have sent him emails and pm's but no response

Hill, I will put the 12gram straight to the valve, and test that later on, when I get this fixed.

Yes. For bolt stick, increase carrier size to the largest one that does not produce a leak. Remember to remove all shims from the powertube area first. You don't want any false leak indications.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Well I just feel silly. I put the items in the powertube of my X valve in in the wrong order. She works now. I will chrono at the field today. The classic still has problems, so I will adjust carrier size and let you know.

It happens to all of us at one point or another. The classic will be a bit more temperamental to tune and you should try new orings and a slow pull with the 12 gram.
