Hey all, I have an SS centerfeed body and I would like to put on one of those old slip-on Spyder feednecks. Can I just cut of the old top and simply slide the new one over it? Or do I need to modify anything first?

No modification necessary. It should just slip over and bolt on. -

At most you may need to add some shims to get a nice tight fit, but should have no problems. You can also use autococker or ego feednecksComment

What feedneck are you using? The Lapco ones are nice as are the Redz. Redz ones are getting tough to find anymore though since they discontinued them a year or so ago.Comment

I believe the old spyder feed tubes were 7/8", same as a mag, so you wouldn't necessarily need shims. I could be wrong. You'll need (or at least want) shims for an ego feedneck though.
How many kittens for this one?

In all seriousness as long as someone keeps the basket, it should be a relatively easy process to return cut feenecks to stock length.Comment
