    phantom with cocker pnuematics

I've been looking at the idea of converting my phantom to a semi just for fun I'm thinking with some of the the front pneumatics the ram and 3 way I could hook something up I'm thinking the ram could be mounted to a braket wich was mounted to the bodie rail the three way would be in front of the trigger gaurd and attach to the bottom of the trigger now I probly would need to hook up a seperate air source and a small reg to power the assembly I would like your ideas and input and any pictures if it has been done before or your own diagrams and do you think the cocker ram would have a long enough stroke?

My chameleon kit for the trracer pump is similar, Ok maybe not but they definately turn heads. "What the heck is that!?" Hehe.

That Putple Phantom isn't a semi. It uses the cocker pneumatics to help pump it and shorten the pump stroke.

Hey how did that work for you? I'm in the process of doing my first semi change on an old trracer. Figure if I can get the trracer then I'll move to an SL-68 or a PMI.

                    Does it work???

Hey, Is that purple phantom a true semi or is it "pump assisted" like someone else tried to say? I'm curious to know because I too own a phantom and I think that it would make and interesting addition to my collection to have a semi-auto phantom... Hit me back ASAP. THanks.

                        PA Phantoms rule...

Doc, to date, has refused to convert a Phantom to "true semi"... at least as far as I know. He does the wicked cool pneumatic assist conversions though:
The pump is connected to a 3 way, which is fed by an LPR (Palmer Rock) which actuates a ram to pump the marker. Result is a 10th of an inch pump stroke, which lets you autotrigger about 6-8 bps... consistantly.

If it didn't cost so much i woulda had it done to mine already.

Punisher's E-Phantom apparently cycles above 10bps, but I forget exactly how fast it can go. Also another sweet mod I can't afford...

                            Semi auto Phantom

Semi auto and the nelson style valve system do not go very well together. This because the action cocks against the valve and is trying to hold the valve open when it should be closed. Makes them extreme gas hogs and generally ruins the performance of a decent pump gun.
I've built several semis on nelson based guns including the Phantom and even though they can be made to function pretty well, they don't shoot worth a darn. I found out the hard way that it just is not worth doing to a gun with nelson format valving.

                              Glenn,
I always wondered why you never made the nelson semi conversion work.

                              Interesting place, isn't it?
