Only on AO do the actual founding fathers of our sport pop on and answer questions. God I love this site.

      Phantom Semi.

The only benifit that I found to a nelson based semi is that the bark is intimidating but it is far worse than the bite.
Short of completely redesigning the dynamics of the valve/hammer/springs and puting a huge delay between the actions of firing and cycling, semi-auto and a Nelson vlave system just are not going to mix.

      Interesting place, isn't it?
      Very much so.

Lapco Autospirt was a nelson semi wasn't it? Didn't it work fairly well until people start messing with the pneumatics..or at least that's what I remember Colin saying.

The TS1/AT85r is a nelson based gun isn't it?

Its semi/FA, is not a gas hog and to this day remains the most consistant/accurate gun i've ever seen. At full auto i can put paint on the same splatch all day. Which i think is more of a testiment of how stable i could hold it in full auto while than shooting my cocker/angel/mag/stroker in semi. It is the also the loudest gun i've ever shot.

One prob, to prevent shoot down i have to feed my TS1 700psi.

Yes, yes it was. I own one. As of right now I need a new cupseal on it because of some dirty punk gas, but I'll mention a few things for its sake. Let me tell you right now, Glenn is mostly right. When the ram knocks that hammer against the valve, and the barrel being unported, it makes a heckuva racket. And in keeping with nelsonism, it needs a high pressure. But I love my autospirit, and I can't let it go undefended. However, I will add a bit about another semi nelson for comparasin.

The only differing opinion I have with glenn is this:
It may suck gas, but it's efficient enough to get me through a day of play. Choke that up to non ported tight bore barrel and lapco parts.
--on the other hand, my semi trracer has trouble making it through the day. it's louder, inefficient due to the stupid valve smack... pain in the butt.

It's accurate. Not too much shudder to necessitate long timing. In fact I have it timed rather short.
--on the other hand, firing my semi trracer is like firing a cat. you pull on the tail... it tries to bite you. I think.

As a matter of fact, even though I'm a sheridan boy at heart (Glenn, I'm nick, got the hot gun penalty 2 years ago and had a nervous breakdown at Splat-1 with ya. I'm yer biggest fan hehe). But I do have 2 nelson semis, one breech and one bore drop, and have a third one being custom built as we speak.

Two things, I've already sold it and bought it back once. Dunno if I can afford to part with it emotionally.

And I don't know if you can afford to take it off my hands to begin with.

That's mine. I sold to Thomas Abe, then bought it back cause i'm a pansy.

Thomas Abe is also one of the best "reviewers" of equipment I've met. His site doesn't have enough on it.

I knew you got it from Blake! I was just about to ask you if that's who you had sold and bought it back from.

Blake is definitely a great reviewer, smart and very RICH man. Boy I am so envious.
