    AR 15 stock conversion

Unlike most players, I enjoy paintballs tactical aspect. I enjoy setting up my gun to look as close to an assault weapon as much as possible. For this reason I've been pondering on methods of attaching an AR 15 telestock to my minimag. I found this site (http://www.geocities.com/colosseum/f...608/index.html) which do it, but at the cost of sawing off the back portion of the mainbody. Does anyone have a better way od doing it? A way which will have little changing of the original gun. I think the Minimag construction is by far the most attractive design out of the box. If I could just put a tac telestock on it. That would be cool. Any suggestions?

Thats not right at all. People, often do it as an alternative for real violence. Thats what it was all about since the conception of the sport.

Since the the 90s it has taken a turn and become a legitamite sport with an image to protect. Don't let that fool you. People play it for many reasons, one of them for me is the tactical aspect. This doesn't mean I'm a gun nut whos dieing to kill someone, I just dig the whole tac deal.

I've seen dudes with full swat gear and spiders hooked up to look like MP5s, but no one thinks of them any different. They know its all show, something that gives him his edge. Others just get hot pink jerseys and angels to run the game.

To each his own, so long as the play is fair and fun. Thats what I love about the sport.

Well said Krom. I think there are many different aspects of paintball, this being one of them.

On a side note, I was looking around that page and I saw an M1 Carbine made out of an Automag! Being a serious student of WWII, I nearly went nutzo seeing that. I HAVE TO HAVE ONE!

Thank you SWAT. I thought I was the only one out there who thought the way I did.
Hey, about the M1, if you go to the site that I mentioned above, they have an M1 and a Thompson conversion. Both of them look amazing. You might want to check it out.

M1 Carbine..eww..it fires a pistol size round. Too bad they don't have an M1 Garand.

Well, my recommendation is to get an old AGD angled bottomline and mount it in the Back Bottle position off the body rail. then get a CAR stock (The AR-15 doesn't have a telescopic stock, that's the CAR-15/M-4). I know there are a couple of ASA-threaded ones kicking around.

RATS!! You posted exactly what I was going to post! Use the back bottle adaptor that goes on the rail.

if you really wanted to get into tactical shooting non-lethal try airsoft. i know a good buddy who has a few airsoft guns and has a M4 airsoft and it looks quite real. be warned though, brandishing it around your neighborhood will cause suspicion.

I really just want the stock for tactical purposes. I know its not going to look like a real ar 15 rifle. Its more for functionallity purposes. I may have said something above that led people to believe I want my gun to look exactly like an assault rifle. Really, I want the tactical aspects of an ar, with the existing functionallity of my minimag. A stock will help me in the way I play.

I could easily pay for an all out conversion to make my marker look like an M4, but it wouldn't necesarily be funcional for paintball. The handguards on an AR 15/M4 or for protecting the user from the heat of the barrel. Surely I wouldn't need that for a paintball gun, though I would get something like that if it was cheap enough. Just for the looks.

I wouldn't invest alot of money on a handguard just for looks, because it would have to be functional at that point.

The stock I want made sense to me. I will help me out, and look kick ***. The price in my eyes, is worth the conversion.

As far as airguns go, well.... I love paintball. Wouldn't want to get a replica for $500.00 and shoot bbs, when I could get the real thing for $500.00 more. Just doesn't make any sense. Thats just my opinion anyway.

I was thinking though...I'd rather not chop up an original M1 Carbine...or even a post war one, just to convert it to a paintball gun. That wouldn't be right.

Also, the M1 Carbine uses a .30 Carbine round which is a compromise between a .30-06 round and a .45 pistol round. Basically, it was done in the name of compactness as the M1 Carbine was inteded for officers, radio crewmen, vehicle crewmen, etc. etc.

I love speedball, but really enjoy a tactical sim as well. It's jsut got a really cool scenario to it, emulating SWAT, etc. I've was interested in SWAT and the military a little while ago when my firends and I used to go running around the woods with Tac gear on, no PB guns though, we just played games, etc.

I really want to play indoors somewhere, but not like an indoor speedball field, it owuld be fun to play in an old factory or something, but too dangerous.
