Is it possible to shim most preset regs if they have the Belleville shims? I'd like to shim my new Immortal Air Aura reg to 950 psi. If so what would the position order of the shims? Also my Aura reg has a brass plate on top of the shim stack, do I need to take it out and leave it out after fitting the new shims?

well, that's how you change the pressure output in a ninja regulator; adding or removing shims (the shims are at the base, under the spring). really, it's how most paintball regulators work...change the spring tension to change the output pressure. it should work fine. the hard part will be finding an appropriate shim that's the right thickness (ninja adjustment shims are .02" / .55mm) and the correct size to fit inside your regulator.Comment

Yeah, probably need to ask. Fundamentally, spring washers are just a spring stack, but they have less travel available than the comparable wire spring. I think this is why the early coil spring ninja tanks had a pretty wide adjustment capability and the later, washer stack ninja tanks had narrower capabilities.I'd ask them before you do anything, their regs use separate spring packs with the desired pressure.

Washer stacks don't like to be crushed, whereas wire springs may not have a problem depending on their shape.Comment

Cool, thanks fore the replies. I had a communication with Immortal Air a while back and they told me the Aura reg couldn't be adjusted. On the face of it it looks almost identical internally to an ANS reg that is set to about 1100 but which doesn't operate all that well, hence I thought I may be able to adjust it.
So is it possible to adjust a preset spring regulator? I have an old Centerflag Hyperflow reg that I believe is a spring based regulator it probably needs a rebuild so while I'm at it if it's possible to adjust it.....Comment

I recommend buying a ninja regulator super easy to adjust and the low and high pressure kits are under $20

Yeah I'm also leaning towards an SHP reg if things don't work out with the Aura. It'll be my next step.I recommend buying a ninja regulator super easy to adjust and the low and high pressure kits are under $20
