A lot can be done to it, just check out the various picture threads for ideas:)
Looks like you have a lvl 10 bolt system already, so everything else will be for aesthetics/comfort.

You need a high pressure output tank, I believe at least 650psi output

Does it air up and fire?

I would say best "diy mods" would be giving it some oil and making sure it has the proper o-rings, maybe picking up AGD parts kit (http://store.airgundesignsusa.com/in...fo&prodId=1783)

A high pressure tank is a must on an automag. The original level 7 mags required a tank above 650psi to operate without starving the valve and causing shootdown or coughing. The level 10 bolt system requires a higher pressure so you should use at a tank with at least 800psi or higher to prevent starving the valve of air.

A lot of the orings shown are buna. Mags don't use buna orings, so they aren't oem or direct replacements. Use the proper urethane orings with a 90 durometer hardness rating. The best ones are in AGD kits. They have the best tolerance parameters so you know they will fit and work properly. Also, older orings that haven't been stored properly may be hardened so they won't seal properly.

The white orings in the picture look like teflon orings for the on-off top. They should be fine. The yellow urethane orings are cloudy. Therefore, they are probably not AGD specs and/or they are old. I wouldn't use them. The black orings are buna and don't belong in a mag, especially if they are soft 70 durometer buna and definitely not if you ever plan to use CO2.

You do have a level 10 carrier kit. That is good, so you can tune your level 10 bolt for optimum operation. The bolt springs may or may not be worn out. Mag springs do wear out. They are a consumable item. If they show signs of wear and are not installed, assume they are worn out but were not thrown out. Worn springs will cause bolt stick issues.

You can mod a mag to the extent that there are no original parts left. It all depends how far you want to go. You already have a level 10 bolt, which is the best upgrade. Make sure the barrels fit tight in the body or you will get barrel wobble. If the back of the barrel is loose enough with good orings, just put a few wraps of tape around the barrel in between the two orings. It will take up some of the slack. The aluminum bodies are a nice upgrade, because they don't experience this, and because you don't have to worry about the hopper elbows twisting during a game. They are a bit lighter as well and give you access to a lot more barrels in the market place because they use Cocker threads.

          Enjoy the new toy.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

anyone made a oring "specs" guide to get them from the oring store?
            are they metric?
            anyone tried Xrings? or viton?

thanks for all the cool ideas keep em coming :)

As temperamental as mags are to different hardness orings I think most just use the tried and true ones. I go thru a parts kit every 3 years or so. And that is normally just preventive maintenance. My 20 year old sear finally wore out in old faithful. All and all you have a base platform of a lego set that fires paint.

I recommend getting an elbow from Pro Team Products, I've had the best luck with them.

It is, though I'd suggest playing around with it as is, making sure you like it, since you already have barrels to use. The adapter is a nice option to have though.

Also, there are probably some good youtube videos on maintenance and tuning, particularly for the lvl 10.

DIY needs are getting the best looking rail, body or frame that you see & bolt it on. The modular, compact & near perfect design, does not lend itself to needing much. There are some that mod, for example, a crossman stock on a CF frame, but most DIY things are more for feel and aesthetics than performance.

1200 PSI is the most fun.

Do you think gas thru grip is a good mod?

Through the trigger frame? Would be interesting, a lot of people have done it.
Personally I like have my tank placed a little further forward, so I use a drop, making a gas thru trigger frame pointless.

And if you meant foregrip, then there are plenty of options out there.
