AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Just killing some time, slid the RT rubber grip over the foregrip upside down and it fits pretty snug and honestly feels great. Might play with it like this B7364E62-.jpg
I'm very happy with how it turned out. Was a fun first "build" even though it is more or less just assembling/disassembling. Already thinking about my next project and getting more in depth..
Figured I'd break it down for anyone interested in the build vs new mag route.
It would be nice to have a fresh ULE mag from AGD, had it in my shopping cart 3-4 times, but I also wanted something to do in my spare time and end up with a sorta-unique finished product. So here goes..
Bought my minimag back, sold the desirable parts ended up +$20 also keeping:
-stock valve
-sear/pin
-valve screw
-bushing
-hose/fittings
-3 barrels
-one beat up gas through, so ugly in fact I drilled it out and using as a trailer winch handle.
-one ugly sight rail (no one wants it, and if you do just cover shipping)
On the build side:
X-valve -$200
Y frame -$160
Vert body -$75
Lapco 7/8 feedneck -$25
Lukes 9.1" wave rail -$80
Lukes foregrip -$45
Sold parts +$20
Total: $565 +backup valve, barrels, extras
I did spend another $50 or so on o-rings/parts from AGD so really ends up around $600. Also spent time fixing leaks and tuning so be ready to research old problem posts, diagrams, and how-to stuff.
Pretty close to where I want to be. Need a ULE body (been back and forth with Sandman, going with a new one hoping for a color when the time comes) plan to anno rail/foregrip AL/different asa with accents to match the body. Also looking into running air through the frame. Don't really mind the hose...but man take it off and it feels amazing. 04CE77B6-.jpg
Also still debating on putting together a classic-ish single trigger back up mag with the teflon body. I did a clean job on the feedneck however don't see myself getting the $100 back out of that. Not original and all that jazz.
Might just sell off parts to go towards the one mag and call it a day. IMG_2801.jpg
