    TRIGGER ROD why not mess with it?

    I know that AGD says to not mess with the trigger rod, but why? Think of what you could do to your trigger, basically, you could make your trigger so short that it could fire with the safety on, making your trigger only 2 mm long and the safety would stop you from over oulling.

    Now, I'd trust AGD if they wanted to try and melt my gun to make it into an Angel (not that WDP is better). But what would go wrong mechanically if you made the rod longer, even if you just lenghtened it enough so that there was no slack on the trigger.

    if all you do is make it touch the trigger, no prob. but it takes time for it to barly tuch the trigger. and i have a rt and a rt pro that can fire with the safty of the intelliframe on. i didnt adjust the rod to be shorter other than ti nicks the trigger barly. i spent a lot og time to make it just barly nick the trigger.

    now what it will do to the gun. when you lingthen the rod it pushes the on/off pin up. this in turn basicly turns off the air flow to the gun. then you will starve the valve. it will short-stroke easy and the shoot down will be horible.
    Sorry for the spelling. Im still working on it.

      think of it this way, they have people with engineering degrees (hopefuly) that have spent countless hours finding the correct rod length to make the gun work properly. i screwed with it once and it took me two hours to make it work again.

        Adjusting your trigger rod does absolutely nothing to help you. As TK put it, there are 4 points of interest in the Automag trigger. Where the trigger is fully released, where it is fully pulled... and the two intermediate positions where the gun fires and where it recharges. Adjusting your trigger rod DOES NOT change the distance between the fire/recharge, all it does is change where it sits between the ends of the trigger pull.

        Ideally you want a little slack after where it fires, and a little slack between the point where it fires and is completely pulled

        | | = Distance between fire/recharge
        [ ] = Ends of trigger stroke

        [&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp|->&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbs p&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp<-|&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp] Correct trigger rod

        [&nbsp|->&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbs p&nbsp&nbsp<-|&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbs p] Improperly adjusted trigger rod.

        As you can see, you have to let go ALL the way with the screwed up trigger rod. Or if you went the other direction, you have to pull the trigger harder. This is why you don't screw with your trigger rod!

        This is what can happen when you file your on/off pin, or after you filed it and it's had time to wear:

        [&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp<-|&nbsp&nbsp|->&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbs p&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp] Shortened on/off pin (aka, how come my gun doesn't work?)

        Note: The difference between a working on/off pin and one that makes your gun not function correctly is 4/1000ths of an inch. In otherwords, don't screw with it. The only thing you might want to try is to get a shorter on/off pin from AGD, this is ok... but results vary... no guarantees.
