How often should you replace the bolt spring? Would I be right in thinking that an old spring would cause a drop in ROF and eventually short stroking?

i agree,

as long as the spring is protruding past the end of the bolt you should be fine.
I think you'll go broke buying a new spring everyday max-mag

Springs will last for 10's of thousands of shots. Replacing the spring after every day at the field is an enormous waste of money on springs and completely pointless. There will be no wear on the spring even after 10 cases or so.Comment
