If you ordered a new Retro Valve it should NOT have a pin that short. That's short for even an E-Mag, which uses a .712 pin.
Your Retro Valve should have come with a .745-.750 pin as long as it wasn't messed with. I'm not accusing MPP of anything, but you might want to give them a call and tell them that your Retro Valve came with a pin that was WAY too short.
You are measuring it with dial calipers, correct?
