it's from 93-95 5-7 years old
i would bet yours is a lot more towards 91 or 90 -
thats a pretty old valve, judging that mine is from 92'ish and it is an CF05240, i would say your is a few years older. i'm still using the stock single trigger, bolt and valve(with the old on/off), grey powerfeed, and even an 11" crown point... that's all 7 years old and still going strong
a Scenario, rec ball, speedball, and a 3man tournament since i got it in may... I've shot about 12000 balls through it this year
... i've tossed on a psycoballistics drop foward... and I'm planning on getting a hyperframe, level 10, j&j 12", ad probably a new sear... mine is pretty worn on it's sides(the sear anyways)
the origonal automag really hasn't changed since 91... or really, at all... just small upgrades along the way...
...a new brass piece on the on/off valve, spacers to replace the power tube spring, Level 10 replaces the bolt and the powertube(spacers too)... oh, and a new powerfeed plug
just mention the age to the seller and they would probably lower the price... it's easily 10years oldComment

one more small change, has been made to autmoags along the way that was not mentioned, the regulator assebly. I had to replace mine along with the on/off top, and powerfeed plug. The newer reg assembly's are able to use HP now when the old ones didn't need to be able to use hp because it wasn't out. This is a total of 23$ of upgrades for the automag over a span of 10yrs, i know because i just bought that stuff.
Oh yah, the newer valves have 6 holes drilled in them where the old ones only had 1. the CF serial number is laser engraved on both sections of the... whole thing
should be on the right side, down near the rail... should be on the A.I.R. valve and on the air chamber(chamber right? i can't remember just now)

This valve should be a 91 or 92 vintage mag. I don't see there being a problem with it. Mags last forever.
You'll probably want to get a new style on/off top and get the valve back drilled so that the hole from back to front lines up. You also may need a new regulator piston assembly if you want to use HPA.
Then get a level 10 bolt upgrade to complete the package and you're ready to rock.
Take into consideration the parts that need to be upgraded when figuring the price. Try to talk the owner into lowering the price based on this information.

The on-off top does not need to be replaced. It offers NO preformance increase. It was only changed, because people where putting it in upside down too often. The new one can go in either way, but works the same as the old one. It is a level 7, so the valve holes should line up, and the reg should be fine for HPA.

On the older level 7 valves, the holes didn't always line up. That's when the after market valve backs started showing up in the industry. They actually did make a difference. The newer valves have holes that line up, so new valve backs won't make any difference.Originally posted by PyRo

The reg assemblies of older valves may be weakened during age and possibly not as strong as the newer ones.
